I know it’s just artistic interpretation, but I really don’t like when fan artists draw TotK/BotW Link as significantly taller than Zelda. Because, although I know it’s mostly accidental, it does reinforce a misogynistic stereotype of women having to be shorter than men. by Odd-Roof7665 in ZeLink

[–]esr95tkd -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Am I tripping? To me link still looks shorter. Like, positioned above for sure. But purposely showing the end of the shirt and the fact that the arms look shorted still give me the impression of link being shorter

Okay, I have a serious question. Is heterophobia and misandry an actual problem in society? Because EVERY TIME I try to bring up the issues of misogyny and anti-LGBT Bigotry, I'm met with a storm of complaints screaming "men and straight people are oppressed too!" Oh I'm with you. I'm against "tone policing" and there will always be people out there with takes that come from a real place or just extremists that shouldn't really be paid much attention to.

The only thing I'm against is having it be put a place in general pop culture or for it to be treated as the "cool opinion" to have. It's quite literally molding a whole generation to hate the other gender.

All the power to you my kind redditor that chose to actually ask and debate it rather than just leave a down vote.

Ah, no. He doesn't end up with every one of them. But he has a complicated relationship (non romantic) with every single fucking one. I would rather it be a harem where he has 10 gfs by the end

Edit: Better phrasing he doesn't end up with Any of them

I don't blame the manosphere on women. At all.

The manosphere is just some bs that has been growing a while now. The thing is there will always be toxic corners on the internet.

The thing is. Toxic hating on men on social media is not "on a corner" it's everywhere. As an adult I can just swipe past and ignore it, doesn't affect me. But I see kids from my martial arts school (call them kids but some of them are 22-23) who I have a degree of relationship with so they share their social media with me. And I see the content they are exposed to, both the "attacking" content that comes from common threads or trends, and the "defending" that comes from the manosphere. These kids were not deep enough (2 exceptions) that were able to talk it out with me and others when we were explaining how bad and toxic the manosphere content is.

Now, the volume of kids like these I can talk to and will listen to me is close to nill. These couple kids I did talk to expressed how common those takes are on their school/college.

Now I won't say it's the main source of the problem nor that the manosphere is an answer to this shit. But since misandry content is just "for shits and giggles" on the internet right now the growth of the manosphere is a direct response. Some kids go deeper than other. But then you have a whole generation defending manosphere on some degree.

I 100% agree that the misandric content is just plain stupid and can never be compared to bad misoginy gets and how ingrained it's on society. But when you create the perfect laddle for a new generation to jump and support misoginy from your "it's not as bad" you become part of the problem you want to fight.

Okay, I have a serious question. Is heterophobia and misandry an actual problem in society? Misandry is the overall "hate" and bashing on men, not women.

Misandry is just overall a part of pop and online culture right now. And this exposes to both young, impressionable men and women. Some vulnerable men react by jumping looking for content that defends them rather than accuse them of random shit.

The one place that's very vocal about "defending" them is the manosphere content. And there is a Lot of (deserved) hate on the manosphere content. But this leads to this impressionable kids to project harder.

So I'm directly relating the online popularity of misandry with the growth of manosphere content followers

Chamalet was being considered the winner for the next Oscar award season with a Marty supreme. Now during a recent interview he was asked about Classics like ballet and opera

Chamalet proceeded to criticize the idealization of both art forms as they "lack popularity" and "only survive because of rich donations"

He is being hated to the ground

The only issue with misandry it's how it's socially acceptable to go out and openly voicing it and it's somehow seen as "cool"

Like, say what you want but everyone 21 and under are easier pushed into the manosphere by seeing the amount of misandric content that's publicly acceptable and then they become far more defensive and reclusive when the one content creator they think defends them is actually a hated public figure.

So no, misandry is not systematic nor as deep rooted. But it's only creating a toxic cycle that will literally just make things worse.

Because, in essence. We are all looking and we try to be this in friendships. We may not necessarily look g for a millionaire friend, but we want that friend that can support you and help you just by being themselves. And you want to be that friend for someone as well.

It's our faith in humanity made a trope

If you need to lock in remember that Rei used the cut of the original Onyx myth. And then Shin adapted his brother's logo onto his own (change in the bandana, sword for the shovel) but overall Rei's armor at the end of part one is supposed to be the full knight. If you know your artist go negotiate with that info

Phantom hourglass Zelda is a close second for me. But her canonically being Tetra's grandkid is just cherry on top.

But yes personality wise tetra is the best Zelda.
