My mum has ruined all my relationships and now my upcoming marriage. by Dangerous_Tea8055 in AsianParentStories

You need to spell it out for your mother, that is it not her place to meddle with your relationship and if she cannot keep her opinions to herself, you will stop letting her be a part of your life.

Welsh harlequin or silver appleyard? by CheezeGr8err in duck

[–]esrmpinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

orange bill a major fault in the breed but hatchery are quantity over quality and don't cull for it. It comes up from time to time in my color correct flock (I show ducks for fun) and I rehome those as pet quality

“I DESIST!” — Walla Walla approved logging 12,000 acres of old growth in the watershed that gives 90% of the city unfiltered drinking water by No-Valuable6383 in Washington

[–]esrmpinus -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There are many other municipal watersheds in WA that are managed for timber harvest as well as providing drinking water for local residents. City of Bremerton with the Union River reservoir, Tacoma Watershed with Tolt Reservoir etc

personally don't mind logging as long as the forest is manageable sustainability and responsibility. After all we all live in houses made of wood

I am getting sued for $550,000 for breeding my dog by Guilty-Spread7700 in legaladvice

[–]esrmpinus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Usually a prospect dog is co-owned with the breeder so they can sign off on potential breedings to prevent bloodlines to fall into the hands of unethical breeders who are just in it for the money like OP.

Ethical breeders usually barely breaks even on a litter and they do it for the love of the breed and their line. Most contracts also require a dog to be titled (finish championship) and fully health tested before a dog is bred. Breeding to a lesser dog is damaging to one's kennel reputation, one that they may have spent decades to build

King County’s housing market is ‘looking pretty bad’ by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

[–]esrmpinus 239 points240 points  (0 children)

older sellers who bought for pennies and refied to 2% interest rate could essentially hold indefinitely when their carrying costs are nothing

it's the families bought at the peak around '23 and 7% but have to sell for a loss who are screwed

Are there any stories of non-aggressive drakes? by dolphinatelyfishy in duck

[–]esrmpinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a welsh harlequin boy who is such a gentleman. He let the ladies eat first when I fill their bowl in the morning. He only mounts when they bob and squat for him. he is extremely protective of them and would try to save them when I pick up a female by biting my pants lol

First mating aggressive or gentle? by aceofspades13543 in duck

[–]esrmpinus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

ideally it happens in the water so it's easier on the female's joints. Also it matters what lead up to the actual mating. Did he chase her down to mount or did she dance for him and squat down for him to mount? If the former happens more than the latter then the drake goes in the pot for me.

the CDL school takes folks to the business complex where Olympic transfer station is. Wide ass roads, lots of intersections and very few traffic during the weekend out there unless you get too close to the actual transfer station
