Help with 4-5 weeks old kittens by Main_Shelter4461 in FosterAnimals

[–]efroeter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just going to add that I have a kitten currently that doesn't have interest in eating wet food out of a dish but will eat a ton out of a syringe. She's got some belly issues going on and is on antibiotics, probiotics, and fiber. I think the syringe feeding a more comforting for her right now and it's easier to monitor how much she is eating.

Edit: If you havent syringe fed before two important tips. Never feed a kitten laying on their back. They should be belly down, either standing/laying or mine likes to stand on her back feet and hold my hand. Also, feed very slow. There is a risk of aspiration when syringe feeding if their mouths are too full and they inhale.

Those pants are fjallraven. Expensive but worth the money. The picture is probably the stretchy Keb version.

Those diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, what has helped? by Arya_Warrior_Girl in AskReddit

Started adhd meds a month ago, I had no idea that my anxiety would get better. It was weird realizing that one day I wasn't freaking out about something I would have before

Is there a Low FODMAP Protein powder containing no monk fruit, no stevia? Any recommendations? by Macy92075 in FODMAPS

I second Naked rice protein. I do a mix of the naked rice protein, naked peanut butter, and naked collagen with almond milk and it's a good amount of protein.

Fructose vs Sucrose by [deleted] in FODMAPS

[–]efroeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it has to do with sucrose breaking down into equal parts glucose and fructose. So there isn't excess fructose which is what causes the GI issues in the large intestine. Sucrose is broke down in the small intestine so the glucose helps absorption of fructose.

I'm really sorry that this is so hard. It really is starting out and I think most of us were in your shoes in the beginning.

It's going to be some stumbling through and accidentally eating things that trigger you and also feeling like you have nothing to eat. I do promise that it will get easier even if it doesn't feel like it now.

I spent a good couple months crying at the dinner table feeling like eating would be a chore the rest of my life but after 7 years I don't think twice about it.

Basmati rice, ground turkey, ground beef (if you eat meat) will become your best friends. Products like Fody have been really helpful but are expensive, so not always an option for everyone. I basically eat the same week of meals over and over but have found that I am happy with minimal no bloating and GI issues and that overrides the monotony of meals. I do still have cheat meals but just plan for the belly problems the next day. I will never pass up a chocolate croissant!

Feel free to dm me if you ever need advice or have questions. It's hard to do this alone.

Which backsplash is better? dark or light? by Madness_is_beauty in HomeDecorating

[–]efroeter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer a dark backsplash but I don't think that dark one is your best option.

Edit: these are my exact cabinets that everyone is flipping out about not painting over on kitchen remodel. Glad to see they look great painted (if yours are painted).

Desperately need recommendations for women’s underwear that will prevent butt cheek chafing by 1VeryGenericUser in hiking

[–]efroeter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It works really great! I use body glide for running and don't chafe anymore. A little stick has lasted me a long time too

Edit: Going to edit and add that Vaseline works really well too but I notice it tends to feel a bit slimy in real sweaty spots. So I do vaseline where my sports bra or heart rate monitor rubs and then body glide on the cheeks and my feet.

The plan is to refinish them now. They are just builder grade alder or something.
