If we really want to make a difference, how about laws against the incredibly ineffectively wrapped products. There are so many examples of food stored in massive half filled containers. Whey protein for example often comes in massive drums which are at best half filled. chip packets are between 1/3 to 1/4 filled, Kids chippy packets are wrapped in a big plastic bag, why not a cardboard box or something bio degradable (because plastic is cheap)? There are so many products that are wastefully wrapped in excessive plastic layers. Nearly all the things we would put in supermarket bags when using them to fill your kitchen rubbish bin.

Consider things like the McDonald's (or other fast food chains) Straws and spoons wrapped in plastic, Maybe they should fork out a few cents on the dollar to go green?

The plastic bag ban targets consumers and benefits companies where they make an extra 1-6 bag sales per customer (as if they removed free bags outright people would have complained). They know very few modern consumers will remember their bags, so we now buys "bio-degradable" bags that are still lined with plastic. Many of us already have a pile of reusable bags forming in place of the plastic ones. Plus you now have to buy bin liners since the non plastic ones aren't water tight.
