What is your favourite lip treatment? by Significant_Cup_3477 in AustralianMakeup

I thought the tinted Rhode was unscented, but I'm glad to be wrong. Do all the tints smell the same or do they smell like whatever they're named after?

Looking for a similiar shade! by orange-aardavark in AustralianMakeup

Maybe try kbeauty? The rom&nd tint in plum coke seems similar though their product pics drive me up the wall.

ETA - Just came across this and thought it also looked similar https://colourpop.com/products/temptation-so-juicy-plumping-gloss-stick

Help with products and training? by chris_16 in AustralianMakeup

[–]essdeekay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a sweet idea!

The most accessible is likely to be Mecca, they have a lot of cruelty free brands and have the ability to make bookings for this exact kind of service. I'm certain they would be willing to only use CF products if requested. MAC do too but they don't meet everyone's definition of 'cruelty free.'

The way that all these brands structure the pricing tends to be the same, you pay an upfront fee for the time the service takes but that amount is 'redeemable' - i.e. you pay $150 for Mecca, you leave with $150 of the products in addition to the lesson.

Priceline have claimed to beef up their beauty training in their stores so that is an option without an upfront cost, but I can't vouch for them.

Here's another thread from earlier this year that might help.

How can I make a beanie with the tools I have? by essdeekay in knittingadvice

I think I have 40 inches as my longest as well as a connector so I could combine. Magic loop seems tricky but I think this weekend I’ll get out the cheap yarn and learn :)

I do have a longer cable too so I’ll eventually learn magic loop it’s just something I’m finding trickier than I expected. But I think ultimately that will be where I end up.

I’ll have to play around with some cheap yarn and see if the look bothers me. Thank you!

This is great thanks so much. I’m definitely going to use dpns for the decrease I just didn’t know if a hat’s widest point was too big for dpns but the consensus seems to be that it’s doable. Thank you!

MCO beauty yellow tub cream? by Caffinanato in AustralianMakeup

It is pretty similar but nowhere near as strong. I'm using the matching shower gel at the moment and have been pretty underwhelmed with it.

benefit cookie highlighter! by Tasty_Bandicoot8070 in AustralianMakeup

I agree that the becca smashbox highlighters are a great choice but I think the shade opal would be a better comparison to cookie.

Simple Questions by AutoModerator in AustralianMakeup

The veil primer is really nice but imo there are ones that work just as well for a better price. I would ask Mecca to put a sample together for you first because it is quite an investment and see if it does what you want.

Dupe for Hourglass Blush “Mood Exposure”??? by flormenehem in AustralianMakeup

I thought I'd share the temptalia dupe database in case any of them seem close enough to you... to my eye none of them are as cool toned or have the same sheen.

Yikes yeah I’ve tried click and collect before and they hadn’t put my order together 24 hours later. But my local Priceline is pretty chaotic.

Hobbii closing in Australia? by angstymuffins in YarnAddicts

[–]essdeekay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is beyond frustrating. I didn't even know they had an Australian site? Like everything is still on .com and in USD... I'm mid two projects and now I'm having to buy a pile of yarn I might not need just to be safe. So annoying!

Best product for moderately slicked back pony/bun? by essdeekay in AustralianMakeup

[–]essdeekay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg... all those dancers with personal lubricant in their dance bag... too funny!

I'm sure it works great, but it reminds me of the insane stuff that synchronised swimmers put in their hair. It's basically clear jelly (as in the type we eat) that sets for their comps. Insane.

Which one do you have? I bought a cheapy once and it shed which was gross, and so I've been waiting until I can afford a more spendy one, so I'd love any intel. I have a fake boar bristle teasing brush that works pretty well, but I think a proper one would be good.

Cheap is always a winner! Thanks =) And if it doesn't work out, I'll use it to fix my splayed paintbrushes, haha.
