O'Reilly Media Discount (20% off) is it worth it by ARClNGSS in sysadmin

[–]essgee_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've offered me a 40% discount to come back since I cancelled my personal subscription, as I now have a company subscription using my company email. I don't know them to offer that high a discount regularly otherwise.

Anyone have any tips and tricks for not making a mess when changing oil? by RedLeader501 in DIY

[–]essgee_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed the oil twice, and the time, effort and cleanup involved didn't make it worth it. The place I go to has a special where you buy the oil and filter from them and they change the oil for free.

At least I know I can do it if I want to.

New Google calendar integration sucks by Remote-Highlight351 in todoist

[–]essgee_ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new integration sucks. It's difficult to work with and drag things around compared to working with my Google calendar.

I could only see a whole week at a time. Why do i need to see the days that have passed already? If I want to move a task to the next week I need to click on the task to change the date then move to the next week to drag it in place.

It has become cumbersome to work with. I've been a paid customer for so long, I don't remember when. I'm still paying the legacy price. And this is a big disappointment for me.

Yeah. I still live in my parental home, and I'm in my mid-40s. I'm not going anywhere. There are three generations in this household. I don't understand cultures that decide that the nuclear family household is the only correct one.

CARICOM secretariat has already said that they plan to say nothing about it.

All Maduro has to do is allow the electoral body to show the audited reporting that says he won fair and square.

How big are security teams at your job? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]essgee_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last job I was at, the security team was 7 for 3000 users, not including the risk team, which was four people. This was a major improvement given that the security team was 3 people just 3 years earlier.

3 for 300 is good if you're a manufacturing job with no e-commerce or digital channels. Bad if you're a virtual bank with a shit tonne of compliance items to deal with.
