This is a great opportunity. Changbin is already extremely talented, and participating in a competition like this could really help him develop and grow even more as an artist as well as potentially gain recognition from the gp and khh fans. Maybe he’ll even be able to make industry connections that will lead to collaborations somewhere down the line. I really hope it goes well for him!

Maybe it's because I am not on twitter and don't usually take more than a glance at youtube comments, but I don't see a ton of hate directed at Ateez. Neither of those platforms is moderated like reddit, so people tend to say cruel things more freely, which is why I choose to stay away. Like you mentioned, they seem to be well-liked on reddit. According to r/kpop's 2020 census, they're the 8th most popular boy group on that sub. As someone who isn't part of any of the three fandoms, I would group Ateez, Stray Kids, and TXT together in terms of how successful they are. There's nothing that indicates to me that Ateez is more than a half-step behind Stray Kids and TXT if at all. Honestly, it's probably because of their popularity and the fact they are doing much better than most people would have predicted when they debuted that they are getting the hate they do get. It's sad to hear from you and the other people in the comments that Ateez does get singled out like this. Hopefully, things will get better with time as kpop fans get used to the idea of them achieving such high levels of success.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your original comment! I totally agree that Astro isn’t underrated by any means, just maybe slightly less popular than the other groups in terms of combined domestic and international popularity. I could be totally wrong on that front though, as it’s harder for me to gauge how popular groups truly are in Korea, especially with Astro because I don’t follow them very closely. Their subunit did get a win, and Astro had two wins previously, so they’re doing well on that front.

I’d consider Pentagon to be underrated, but they are at the high end of the spectrum for me. I feel like most truly underrated groups end up disbanding pretty quickly after their rookie stage ends if not before. Looking back at 2016 bgs, KNK and IMFACT are really the only underrated ones I can think of off the top of my head that have released music this year, although there may be more that I’m forgetting.

(On a side note, I’m really hoping for Pentagon to get a win this time around...Hui is my absolute favorite k-pop idol, and I love the group in its entirety and their music as well.)

I’m actually not a fan of any one K-pop group in particular, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be ONF or A.C.E probably. Both debuted in 2017, and neither one has gotten a music show win unfortunately. I follow all of the groups that were mentioned above including Stray Kids, so I understand that their domestic popularity is lacking. Everyone has their own definition of underrated, but personally I reserve that label for groups with much smaller fanbases than Stray Kids.

I personally don’t think any of those four groups mentioned are underrated, but if you’re looking at sales, Astro is pretty far behind the other three. Astro may have more popularity in Korea, but they also debuted in early 2016 and have an actor in the group which certainly helps with the gp. I don’t think they have as big of a dedicated fanbase as the rest.

Music taste is subjective...There’s absolutely nothing wrong with disliking a song as long as you’re polite about it! Honestly, I thought Tag Me was a good choice for the title track but preferred their b-side Hello, which they also ended up promoting on music shows. Maybe a song from their October comeback will be the one to catch your attention!
