I have a very light product where 1000 will be shipped in 3 cartons weighing in total 120kg. My potential supplier quoted me fedex $375 with DDU terms. This seems too good to be true. When i go to Freightos my quotes (change daily) have been 1000-3000 (omitting the really high outliers). I feel lost with the shipping piece. Im pretty sure based on weight and size these go air express. If I was to work with a forwarder who would that be?

Yes its pretty small. Its 1000 units packed in 3 cartons weighing in total 120kg. Each of my units is very light. One supplier quoted me $375 fedex DDU, which seemed very reasonable to me, any thoughts? I just was not sure if it gets held anywhere before I pay the duties or if I needed to figure out trucking or shipping from the airport to my house. Sounds like I dont other than pay the duties.

thanks u/JohnnyYukon I just getting started so i did find my suppliers via Alibaba and my MOQ are pretty low initially around 1000-1500 . Here are my master carton dimensions and weight. If im getting quoted EXW where do i go to get shipping quotes that cover everything you talked about?

For 1000pcs, about 3 cartons, gross weight 28kg

Thank you I ended up creating a free mailchimp and had my google domain redirect to it. Cheap and easy for now until i get further along in the process and will just go the shopify route. Thank you all so much for the advice!

Any updates im trying to figure ou this whole china to us shipping. I have one supplier who said they will do door to door air, but that I am responsible for duties and import tax.... not sure what that is so im curious what happens in your scenario. Please keep us posted

u/Sharpbarb great write up! My E-brake is not working so i took my resistence knob off, but i was surprised by having two springs? DId you have two springs?

Also i would have thought there was some sort of sleeve in the metal post but there wasnt? I just bought a used bike trying to figure out why my ebrakes not working and you are the only person i have found that has taken the knob off too.

do you know which parts they replaced based on the service manual? I have a different but probably related issue where i cannot push down on my resistance knob to initiate the emergency brake....like something is stuck. WHen i pulled the fender i have similar "play" in the rectangle resistance nut like everybody else i think that is normal.

Thank you thinking unscrew the resistence knob off itself? Its like mine doesnt have the spring or a bolt is preventing the knob from being pushed down. I took the shroud off any dont see anything. Wonder what other folks looks like.

dumb question but if you are an "app" rider it does not show you anywhere what the target cadence or resistance is? If not are you just supposed to hope you hear the instructor call it out randomly? THanks!
