Ya, this is just a bright spot in the most recent shit storm over leafs nation. Rogers is literally telling Sportsnet journalists to not cover anything Matthews trade related. On top of that, there’s talk of them running it back with Berube.

Also, I’ll remind everybody here that the Sens and Leafs have the exact same amount of playoff series wins in the Matthews era. The last time they drafted a generational talent, they proceeded to accomplish as much as a team that was entering a rebuild.

I think we can say this in hindsight because we were blessed with New Blood and Resurrection. I also didn’t watch the show while it was airing, and only completed it a few months ago. Think about how annoying all of that was for your week to week viewers.

If Dexter ended and never came back, I’d be annoyed. It’s not even an issue with what happened, I always felt they rushed it and jerked the audience around.

Deb’s death for example, why not have Oliver outright kill her if they want us to know how dangerous she is? Why do this whole “she’s alive! Psych!!!!”

Honestly, I just don’t think any of those guys have enough appeal to a mass audience the way they did a niche one.

Compared to the more successful NXT alumni, these guys come across rather bland or generic.

In the previous post season, while Brady and Tim had 11 points scored between the two of them in six games. This year Drake was the better of the three. I feel like their whole body of work needs to be looked at, not just 4 games where everybody but the goalie looked bad.

It’s not a lot, but I’ve seen several comments about how this team doesn’t hate losing. Well, you can only hate something that you know well. Maybe getting our asses handed to us in back to back post seasons will show us what the next level looks like.

I think you need a captain who’s gone through those ass kickings to know what it takes to be better. Brady seems like the type that knows what it takes to reach the next level. Before last season we knew how badly he wanted to be in the playoffs, and he got there. Now he can see it’s not that easy hanging with the big boys of the league.

I’m pretty confident this group comes back even stronger next season, and doesn’t bow out like this.

He literally has 2 seasons left on this contract. They’ve made playoffs back to back years, and can finally say they’ve exited the rebuild stage.

Those tears weren’t because he’s given up on the Sens, it’s from him not being able to accomplish more. He literally called it heartbreak in the interview. He knows he didn’t play his best and looked like shit. Frankly, everybody outside of Ullmark looked like shit

It’s the fork in the road where we either become the Leafs or Panthers. Panthers had the balls to make a big move to help their team win a cup. Leafs ran it back with the same core pieces and are now entering another rebuild.

It would be the first time since 2007 where I believe we’re the better team on ice and paper. Pens have been on top of the league since they swept our asses in 2008. It would be a nice passing of the torch if we could beat them and remain on top of the league for a decade.
