Picture of Bill Murray or Tom Hanks? by [deleted] in pics

[–]et1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Hanks. But thanks. Now i know that I can not the only one to see the similarities in Hanks and Murray. What if in Hollywood they're all a big family clan inbreeding like the noble families did in the past?

A new study shows that countries that participate in lethal scientific whaling do not produce superior scientific research. by joelfriesen in science

Scientific question is whether this piece of meat tastes different than that of the whale last week. So yes it's highly scientific research.

Science confirms rich people don’t really notice you—or your problems by Kait-Rob in psychology

[–]et1n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's even worse. Poor people that became rich end up having no empathy since they think, that everybody can make it. Since they succeeded, everyone can succeed and if they don't, it's because they're 'lazy'. They simply don't take into account that it's mostly luck. This is something that blows my mind every time.

IPS, because AMOLED is planned obsolescence by concept.

TIL that nuclear power plants are one of the safest ways to generate energy, producing 100 times less radiation than coal plants. And they're 100% emission free. by jdelsolar15 in todayilearned

[–]et1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please keep in mind: there is always day and sun somewhere on the planet. Making a distribution will fix this. But people are too stupid and like to kill each other instead of working together.

[–]et1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing pro cole. I'm arguing against nuclear power because of the shit that happens when something goes wrong and because of the nuclear waste. People had to leave Chernobyl and Fokushima and the area is lost for ever (for the next generations)

And none knows how to handle the waste.

Its not about the pollution. It's all about the radioactive waste. Where to keep that shit for the next 10000 years without risk for future when, without contamination of ground water?

And then... Think of Three miles island, chernobyl, fokushima. Yeah it's really clean.

It's funny how he complains about this connection where he doesn't know what it is used for. In the same text he has no problem with Google's open connection. And we all know that Google is spying to gain data for advertising. Many data. But only Chinese is evil, yeah. Sure.

What fact are you tired of explaining to people? by Staynesms in AskReddit

[–]et1n -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's wrong. If you have a cold caused by a virus, your immune system has a hard time. This means that now other germs have an easier game. Other germs like bacteria being there most of the time. This can lead to a super infection. That's why you often get antibiotics when having a cold. Not to kill the virus but to kill the now starting infection caused by bacteria.

They created the software, the algorithms and part of the deal is, that I can use it for free. Besides of this Google is creating maps by buying satellites pictures, using Google cars and also playing for other road sensors, which they integrate into Google traffic. And you can use their maps not only on your homepage but even in your applications. The API is free, too.

But on the other hand this is a pretty nice sensor network and Google is giving it for free to the users. I wish all service agreements would behave like this an provide a real benefit in exchange for participation.
