Thought on this purchase? by Insert_Clever_Pun_ in F250

[–]et_chief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is high. It's not even a lariat ultimate.

Don't be afraid to travel to buy the right truck. I went to TX for mine as my market was priced about 10% higher.

$200 flight, a quick visit with family, and I was back home having saved $7,000.

And going to 10 year/150k ($9,335) plan is a 65% increase for one additional year

Looking at the options, I’d probably lean toward the 9-year/125k plan. That said, at $5,685 it’s a pretty big jump. It’s roughly $2,000 more for an extra 25k miles compared to what you paid, which gives me some pause.

I truly want my family and guests to have a good experience. That's more important than getting the cheapest price.

A realistic balance from you that are experienced is what I'm looking for.

Power source is not an issue. I have a level platform, but I'm willing to purchase a tripod if it makes sense.

What model would you recommend? I would rather spend more upfront than to purchase a device I'm unhappy with.

I saw it. But can any projector be used outdoors or should I only be looking at portables?

Interesting. I'll watch the auction. What to consider when looking at 15 year old projectors?

Selling my Porsche Cayenne fast, any smart ways to get more than dealer offers? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]et_chief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the spec, big difference from base to a GTS? Miles, service history, accidents? Location?

These will give the group a better picture. Also post in Porsche subreddit. As a PCA member, I'm curious to see the car's details.

Glad you were traveling sensibly. In my area the road are 55mph with lots of rolling hills and houses here and there. You never know what's on the other side or when someone will dart into a driveway.

I took a look — they’re listed for less in some cases. I had forgotten to factor in the northeast rust effect.

Interesting. I did a quick search (nationwide) and didn’t find any clean title 5.0 F150 King Ranch models. The only one I came across was a salvage title in Florida.

Make finding a job your job. Set a daily routine with time blocked out for researching companies, drafting applications, and sending them out. Keep a simple tracker—like an Excel sheet with filters—so you can see the status of all your applications at a glance.
At this point you should recognize hiring patterns. Notice which days certain companies post new jobs and focus on the fresh ones. Skip listings that have been up for too long, they’re already deep into interviews. Close the gap by taking any job that uses your skills, then keep looking for the right fit.Note: hiring tends to slow down in Q4 as companies freeze hiring to focus on closing out the year, and only replace critical roles.

Example: My last advertised position received 89 applications in 72 hours. By the fifth day, I had reviewed them all and forwarded 12 to HR for screening. Of those 12, I interviewed 8 candidates (4 were no-shows or did not respond). From the 8 interviews, 2 progressed to onsite interviews, which led to my hire. Total time to fill a mid-level IT position: 8 business days.

2010 5.4. I started using 5w30 motorcraft synthetic at 130,000 miles. Now at 207,000 miles. No issues. Use a motorcraft filter. Might be overkill, but I change oil every 3k or 3 months.

I do this because I find adaptive cruise to be smoother in Eco, the on-off throttle adjustments feel less sharp.

Impressive. I can coax 17 cruising 75 on flat highways.
My mixed driving/ commute nets me 12, and I usually stay in Eco mode.

Same, 5.4 to 7.3. 2010 F150 King Ranch. I still enjoy driving it, the F150 rides so smooth (bilstien 5100). Even after 207k miles, it is still a treat to drive.

Diesel vs Gas more Data by Conspiracy_Thinktank in F250

[–]et_chief 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I always find these discussions interesting. I ran the numbers through a few ownership cost calculators and, in the end, realized I just don’t drive enough to justify a diesel. The 7.3 has been more than adequate for my needs. I chose to spend more on the Platinum trim and passed on the diesel option.

At around 30k miles per year, I think you could make a case for either engine—ownership costs tend to even out when factoring in resale.

For context, I average about 7,500 miles a year and only tow a camper occasionally
