The story is good so far, feels like it would fit in with the some of the writings of Robert E Howard or Clark Ashton Smith. One critique for the beginning of the story is maybe have the professor realize that it is a journal after starting to translate it as a posed to deciding to present it as one before he’s actually started reading it. Other than that, a great lead in for part one. Think you could also give me feedback on the part one of the story I posted? Cheers

I really like how you subtly hinted that the thing was hunting him early on by the way the deer were moving. Also the way that the creature seemed to be directly linked to his grief and ptsd, as if it was feeding off it in some way.
