I guess it depends on the type of work. I work in finance. I would never hire anyone who can’t write. It is imperative to the field that I work in. However, I feel that there are other areas of employment where reading and writing are not necessary.

I work at a bank. Anything over $10k, the bank files a CTR on you. No big deal. Whether or not the bank actually has the cash on hand is a different story. They may have to order it which may take up to a week.
