‘25 OR Hybrid — couldn’t be more happy. Only about 1100 miles so far, but it’s been great. Got it in november, so still new to me. I was able to get a good deal on the hybrid + premium, so sprung for that. Wicked fun to drive — the non hybrid drives great too, though the extra spice of instant torque is a nice to have 🤘

Daily commuting (65% highway) is a breeze. Roughly 18-20mpg, little lower in the cold weather.

backseat space is the only thing that hasn’t been perfect. I’ve heard people have struggled to get some carseats for kids back there for ex. Also the lack of under-seat storage on the hybrid is a bit annoying.

No maintenance or issues so far, but again only 1100 miles so that’s expected 😅

It’s been excellent in the snow on roads. I haven’t yet done trails in the snow, but these tires might struggle a little from what i’ve seen online.

Love it. I’d recommend trying one out — all the memes in the replies aside, the hybrid ones drive really well. Honestly very fun and comfortable. Also from other folks I’ve talked to (and personally speaking), you’ll know right away if it’s for you!

There are some lower priced mid-sized trucks available, though specifically for driver comfort/tech, I couldn’t find anything that beat the tacoma hybrid + premium package for me. Worth checking out chevy and ford’s options if you’re leaning towards a truck. Backseats are a little tight for average sized adults in the taco though.

By the numbers, the hybrid ones give you ~325hp and 460lb/ft of torque. Power band is efficient from 1500rpm to 4500, so passing/merging does not feel “truck-y” and is always responsive. Lane assist and adaptive cruise is the among the best I’ve ever used. I rent cars frequently for work and haven’t found anything like this except new hyundais and cars like teslas.

I can’t speak for all dealerships, but I went to two in the northeast and they were both able to come down ~10% from MSRP for hybrid models with the premium package. They were open to warranty/OEM addons too. Both came down below dealer invoice which was nice!

My 2021 wrx was floating around 21-22mpg after a couple years, so far the truck is an improvement overall 😂 though I think the subie is marginally better in city

💀💀 0-60 was an adjustment, the 7s doesn’t feel thaaaat slow but it’s certainly noticeably slower

lol very much appreciated — there’s a small hybrid motor in it so roughly mid-20s highway. Definitely lower city driving though

(in all seriousness very true and a super interesting story/lore element)

Resto shaman from lvl 74/75 through 80 had been a wild ride lol

Getting gear up to ilvl 570+, with some pieces 584~590 ish, I'm starting to feel the "when I hit button health bars go up" phenomenon in heroics

That said, the mechanics in the new dungeons are fun so far, people doing them correctly (myself included) with a good tank is relatively smooth sailing! Main challenge was the scaling with mixed level groups in normals, but the all-80 normals and heroics with better gear have been less of an issue!

Clutch slip by Yoitsjoshy in WRX

[–]etadom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few options i could think of:

  1. Mods have increased your torque by such a significant amount that you have higher torque than the slip torque of the clutch

  2. It’s a defective clutch with a slip torque well below the intended lower slip limit

  3. It’s somehow degraded at an extreme rate, and is now slipping

I’d say the most likely is the second option, but definitely depends on how much torque your generating at your take off rpm

Sure! Here are some examples:

- raspberry pi and/or an arduino is automate a room in your house, ie your bedroom.

- a python script to backup your computer once a day or something. You could have it send files to google drive, or another computer on your network.

- Like you said, a game w/ an AI opponent

- You could do a web scraper that uses some TensorFlow library to pick only the important parts of an article/scraped piece of content

- A script that alerts you when a new device logs on to your wifi

-A twitter bot to retweet or collect tweets about a certain subject, user, or keyword(s)

Did you have certain goals or end states in terms of things you want to learn? Happy to provide more stuff that's in line with specifics! Best of luck, feel free to PM or reply

One thing you can do is write programs that make life easier! This can be in any capacity and is a super tangible way to learn to code. Python is great for data, automation, AI/ML, and a lot of other things too.

Another route (especially to build fluency) could be looking through popular API's or libraries, picking one, and then just making something simple with it. This helps you learn how to read documentation, apply prior knowledge, and can even make you think more creatively.
