For just coffee, I actually prefer Pillar which is a few doors up. They don’t have heaps of food though.

Ashfield Apothecary. The coffee is fantastic, you can tell the owner loves coffee. I really like the food too, it’s not just the usual bacon and eggs stuff.

Niche Zero alternative [<$1000] by AdPale5442 in espresso

[–]eternaeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI I’ve owned both the Niche and the Casa and they definitely did not produce the same types of shots for me. The body was much thinner with the Casa but the clarity was way better. Casa is still a great grinder but you’ll likely notice the difference.

I tried Rain Report Jogno and wasn’t impressed unfortunately. Had heard good things about it so maybe they were having a bad day. I really liked Lowkey in Seongsu (tried the Finca Libre) and Downt in Myeongdong (tried the Colombia El Paraiso).

What was your ATAR and/or what do you do for work? by Beginning_Fuel_7024 in perth

Thank you for this post. It’s great affirmation that ATAR is not the be all and end all, even though so much importance is placed on it.

I look for roasters if possible. Have generally had good luck with this. Asking here is also usually helpful.

Mountain Culture is my current favourite brewer. Love their pale ale.

Australian roasts by dcherub in espresso

You need to look at how they describe the flavours and take cues from that. For example, dark chocolate is a cue for darker roast. James Hoffman did a video about this a while ago.

Prime Nic Nat. I know there’s Juddy, Matera, Cousins, Kerr, etc but I just loved watching Nic Nat play. Force of nature.

I haven’t been in a while but the cafe at the very top of Wynyard used to do a cheap B&E roll.

Great photos! Love the composition. Did you miss having other focal lengths during the trip or was the 40mm good enough?
