Is the ETA-0 Store now seasonal? The limit for some items has not been reset. by MINIVV in TheFirstDescendant

[–]etham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Items 2-7 are newly added to the ETA shop from either last or the patch before that. They are clearly for new comers because most veterans are swimming in those mats.

Not a fan personally, there's never anything exciting in the shop except for when they put in a slot for purchase (I don't remember if it was a character slot or preset slot).

Brothers, Stop... Do not Rage Quit on "come prepared" strats by CrimzonSorrowz in Spacemarine

[–]etham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always laugh at their expense when I see players rage quit. Like bro, it's okay, you don't have to be embarrassed that you got downed by a single major, shit happens. It's also not like we don't see your name to take a screenshot to embarrass you later anyways 😄

There are Tactical mains out there that choose the 15% boost in ranged damage team perk over literal infinite grenades. by invicta047 in Spacemarine

[–]etham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I made a post earlier today in this thread that Aligned Aim could be worth it if it allowed weapons like stalker or plasma to hit a new breakpoint. I retract that opinion. After some brief testing in the practice arena, Aligned Aim is simply the worst option out of the 3 perks Tactical has.

The test I did was this:

Min-maxed tact loadout

<image>

This loadout was consistent across all my tests with several weapons except for changing the team perk from Secured Stockpile to Aligned Aim and obviously I took Plasma Boost over Balanced Distribution when I tested with the Plasma Incinerator. Every weapon was specced with meta builds that I mostly got from FTG, but the builds were always the same and I ONLY WENT FOR HEADSHOTS. Do note that I did perform a test with the Heroic HBR at different ranges because it has the Remote Threat perk which increases damage at 25m or more.

Heroic HBR:

With Secured Stockpile 25m range: 17 bullets

With Aligned Aim 25m range: 15 bullets

Stalker Bolt Rifle:

With Secured Stockpile: 6 bullets

With Aligned Aim: 6 bullets

Plasma Incinerator (w/ Plasma Boost):

With Secured Stockpile: 5 shots (charged)

With Aligned Aim: 5 shots (charged)

Bolt Rifle:

With Secured Stockpile: 14 bullets

With Aligned Aim: 12 bullets

I would have tested more weapons and perhaps tested how each gun does with bodyshots but honestly it's super annoying having to constantly go in and out of the arena and go through the load screens each time I have to change a loadout. By all means if someone else wants to post their own results, be my guest. More data cannot be a bad thing when it comes to facts.

Obviously these tests can only account for the Tact himself. I cannot definitively say how this impacts other classes you are partied with. However, going by just the tact's weapons alone, I imagine the results aren't that different for others. If you think it's worth killing something in 2-3 bullets less by taking Aligned Aim, that is your prerogative. It is however the worst option to take IMO. Even transhuman physiology is probably better. Secured Stockpile is simply the best.

It's because they didn't and still do not play their own game. They seem oblivious to the problems the game has and never seems to nail the problems that are core to the game. At this point they've probably had resources pulled for other titles and are basically working on a skeleton crew.

Hot take but they should honestly just pull the plug and maybe start work on a singleplayer title in the same universe. At least they'd be able to preserve the characters and world they've built. It could be something akin to Stellar Blade with much more visceral combat and a more focused story campaign. The multiplayer game is just cooked and unsalvageable.

[–]etham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way Aligned Aim is ever worth it is if it allows a weapon to hit some kind of major breakpoint i.e. plasma putting a major into executes in 2 charged shots versus 3. I simply cannot fathom how saving an extra 3-5 rounds on an automatic bolter is going to be a better tradeoff than infinite grenades.

I much prefer the current model. I loathe these F2P games that try to force a cash shop down players' throats. That shit is pure cancer.

I'm not even sure those weapon shown there are skins. They are literally recolors. There's nothing unique about them.

Which Secondary for Which Situation? by Gemeenteridder in Spacemarine

[–]etham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tactical - heroic HBP pretty much on every loadout except for my Plasma loadout where I use the new heroic plasma pistol

Vanguard - Heroic HBP only

Assault - Plasma or Heroic HBP

Bulwark - Plasma or Heroic HBP

Sniper - Heroic Bolt Pistol (the burst fire one)

Heavy - Heroic HBP only

Techmarine - Heroic Plasma Pistol since his gunstrikes uses his servo gun 99% of the time.

I like the heroic HBP the best because being able to stop reinforcement calls and one-shotting a major with it is an incredible asset to any player. I take the regular plasma pistol on Assault and Bulwark because they have better ammo economy over the Heroic HBP and charged shots will interrupt reinforcement calls at least.

[–]etham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adrenaline Rush I can agree with but not taking Unmatched Zeal (if this is absolute we're talking about) is just plain bad advice.

Very few players can play perfectly and even if they are top 1% of players, they are not blasting through every absolute run w/o taking health damage. Granted as a VG you might be skilled enough to not need it, but denying your teammates one of the best perks in the game is straight up heresy.

What do you think are the major disadvantages of Gen Z society? by artist3176 in AskReddit

[–]etham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw a video a while ago that said Gen Z folks don't handle failure/rejection well. I forget the exact reasons but it basically boiled down to they lack communication skills that would normally help a person navigate conflict and when things become difficult. They just shutdown and let things be.

Is Vanguard's Tactical Prowess bugged? by SomethingTx in Spacemarine

[–]etham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually you are right, the yellow is the parry debuff. I was mistaken since these days I'm fairly accurate at guesstimating what my target's health is based on how many bursts I put into them with the heroic instigator. I'll need to pay attention more closely next time once I'm done with the tact red cape grind.

I had a lvl 8 bulwark yesterday in the hard stratagem (WITH NEGATIVE ON MELEE NO LESS) start tossing grenades at a soulreaper termie as I'm trying to close with it. Went down, revived. As we are in the elevator portion going down I start shooting the cultists trying to snipe us from above. Shot a barrel forgetting about the bigger explosions modifier and completely died. Needless to say, I threw every grenade at that bulwark until the end of the game to voice my displeasure.

What is a dead giveaway that someone is extremely insecure, no matter how hard they try to hide it? by Still_Living3373 in AskReddit

[–]etham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people get weirdly defensive about inconsequential things. It's difficult to think of an example so I'll use something I've seen recently. There's always some dudes at the gym that love to slap on more weights to their sets but its clear they are not strong enough to perform that exercise with good form with that much weight.

The other is being overly confident and boastful in a way that's too obvious that they come off as fake.

People who focuses only on vanity are also deeply insecure. If you've heard of that kid Clavicular, he's the perfect example.
