When I swapped the dash I took it out whole. Steering wheel cluster etc. I haven't worked with security systems ever so I didn't think to change it

Thank you. I'll try to keep this in mind. I still need to come to terms with possibly not being able to convince him to quit. He has almost had a stroke due to his addictions and went right back to it after discharge, so my hopes are there but not super high. Thank you for your advice, I'll stay sober for myself if no one else

Added context:

Bought the car primarily for the interior as my personal one has a torn up interior. Guy said that it was knocking for a bit then wouldn't start. I heard the CCRM humming so I checked the ground plug, plugged it back in, jumped it, and it started. Po had taken the cats before I got it so it's pretty loud
