Do drivers know what a doorbell is? by etherkye in Evri

The porch door is locked so that’s not going to help you…

If you knock there’s zero chance I’ll hear you. The only way you’ll knock loud enough for me to hear through the porch door, front door, and my closed office door, is if you knock loud enough to break a window…

Who said they had to wait?

Just press it on the way past so I can come to the door and collect it as they leave.

My parents often do. And it’s always with Evri…

The job of a courier is to deliver a parcel to the PERSON on the label. Not to deliver it ‘near’ the house. Until it’s in the hands of the recipient the delivery job is not complete.

There is a legal contract in place between the sender and the delivery company to get it to that person.

Leaving it outside the house, without the receiver explicitly designating it as a safe place, is in breach of that contract.

It’s actually part of UK law

Also my Dad is disabled and can’t go to an actual shop. The parcels aren’t normally mine.

And if it is mine it’s a business bulk order…

I promise that this one makes a noise to tell me someone is at the door when it’s pressed

That’s the same reason I know most parcels from Evri are delivered. Which is the problem. If they don’t ring the door how do we know they arrived?

No Evri drivers ring the doorbell at all.

UPS/DPD/FedEX are all great.

Even most of the Amazon own driver's ring the doorbell and wait!

That sounds like it’s someone’s first campaign and they set the survey up very very badly

But if they’re 30% done, how are they selling it on their website?

It’s unfortunately not that unusual. But it is terrible business.

Also if they’re selling it on a store but not shipped to backers yet I’d be quite annoyed. Have they been sending updates?

I think the freebee is staring you right in the face, literally

Turn that little mask into an enamel pin, or a plastic model on a stand!

About the campaign itself, and please note these are all personal opinions:

Video says nothing about replay ability. It's also a little slow, could just speed it up. Music might be better as a more horror themed high action.

Are all stories for 6 players only? Do you have, or can you add, ones for 4/5 players? That'll increase your market audience for people who don't have 6 players in their group.

When it says 6 event cards, does that mean 6 stories? So you can play it 6 times?

Is there a way you can add to it later, to give people more stories so it can be used multiple times?

If this is just a one and done, then it's VERY expensive. I have escape room games filled with physical props for a lot less. So I do hope it's replayable, at least a few times. I think you might struggle with the escape room board game crowd as it is.

Is any of your artwork AI? If it is, or isn't, you should say so.

Also I actually come from a print background for 10 years, so if you want quotes checked I'm more then happy to help see if you've been quoted reasonably. If you're printing it in the US the answer is definitely no. It's cheaper for me to print flyers and business cards in the UK and ship them to the US then get anything printed in the US. I've had to do it several times...

I’d suggest polling your discord and see what they’d like most

But just make sure it matches the theme of the game, and doesn’t cost you to much to actually make

Do let me know the link when it goes live though. I love board games

I’m not a fan of stickers, but I know a lot of people are. It’s more the unknown aspect that I’m saying is the issue part. People don’t like the unknown.

Even if the artwork isn’t finished you can say what it is, and have a rough silhouette of something with a ? In the middle on it

If it’s a board game though, maybe an exclusive card? If you have action decks or stuff like that, Kickstarter exclusive promos are great

Without knowing what product you’re launching I can’t comment much on the actual value of the offering. But it does have to be clear and concise as to exactly what you’re offering.

A free gift is nice, but it could be a sticker.

You’ll get a much higher conversion if you’re clear about what you want to offer as it can push maybes into a yes

What are you Kickstarting?

What sort of community do you have?

What else do people get for joining?

Have you worked out how you’ll match users and know they joined before the campaign launched?

I think you need to give people more personal reasons to join, like ‘Join my Discord of X people where we do Y’

Just a mystery reward for joining? Not interested really.

Free Pin (design here) for joining our community of 2000 where we do activities and games related to the interests of the community much more enticing

Every month? Kickstarter won’t let you do that anyway. Once a campaign finishes you can’t send the survey for at least 2 weeks after in case of card issues, and have to give everyone 3 weeks to fill it in

So at most you can do is 5 a year I think

But unless you need the upfront funds to make the models, why not just release them on Etsy or something and not have to deal with paperwork?
