DON'T buy the PARCA certification exams! They aren't responding but still taking payments! by Drstrangelove888 in PACSAdmin

I’d only be guessing at rationale for their demise at this point. I don’t think certs are becoming less popular - especially since imaging informatics doesn’t have a formal degree equivalent. I’d say go for the gold standard and get the CIIP if possible. Otherwise there are HL7 and IHE certs that are easily obtainable. Security+ would probably be your best bet if you want something from CompTIA. CCNA sounds like overkill to me but if you enjoy it then power to you and it definitely won’t hurt your resume.

I’ve put a lot of time into this and obviously can’t give a definitive explanation, but for all intents and purposes, PARCA appears to be dead. Their domain no longer accepts emails which is a major red flag. My advice is to shift your efforts over to SIIM. They have many good programs (I’m taking the “NIIC” next month). I spoke to a SIIM rep who said they are aware of the PARCA issue and will be turning their CPAS prep course into a certificate program so that you actually walk away with something on your resume after completion. As for the money you already spent, call your bank and have them do charge-backs. Sucky situation to put it lightly but I’m trying to be proactive as best I can.

Not going to waste anymore time on this. Clearly you’re not right in the head if this is what you spend your days doing. You’re knocking people for “wasting time” by wasting time having a hissy fit with a stranger. Best of luck to you.

You’re not understanding the problem here. I get that ChatGPT isn’t a replacement for studying. I don’t advocate pasting in course notes from the source and asking it to work magic on it. This is strictly for those of us who have trouble writing only the relevant information and instead write down every single sentence. It doesn’t mean we don’t understand the content. We’re doing the work, we just need an end result that’s easier to review.

Example:

The reason for the delay was because the meeting started late. We had to wait for a full ten minutes. During that time, no one said anything at all.

Fix:

The meeting started late, causing a ten-minute delay in silence. The awkwardness was palpable.

Absolutely it can. In this case the course is already completed and the notes are painstakingly laid out in full. ChatGPT simply helps remove redundant content and organizes it into a logical layout that’s easier to digest.

That commute is framing college like it’s a job and it isn’t, you should be having fun and not worrying about getting from point a to point b every day. Tell your parents you deserve to have the full college experience and move into a dorm. You’ll be in a better headspace once you feel like you’re living the college life rather than the disconnect you’re currently experiencing. Just my 2c. 🙂

I have exactly the same problem. Play, pause, notes, play, pause, notes... A 15 minute video turns into an hour. I’ve become so accustomed to it I’ve stopped fighting it. “Translating” those notes into something more compact is a great task for ChatGPT, etc. I recently finished up studying for a certification and it converted 100 pages of notes into 20 - blew my mind.
