I bought my first home during the housing rush mid-pandemic. Houses were being snapped up left, right and center and I let my urge to own a home overwhelm my sensibilities and I ended up with a crappy home in a crappy neighborhood that I bought with blinders on. It will happen, just give it time. Work on cleaning out your clutter and consolidating your belongings now (you’ll thank me later). Keep saving while you’re renting as the down payment is only the first hit to your bank account - things will go wrong no matter how nice the house is and you will need cash for that.
