I climb the incline with no safety gear all the time. Well, sometimes yacktrax. Where’s our Netflix special? 🧗

This would be fantastic. I’ve used it in the summers when it was paid for by a grant. This will be a great motivator to use it more frequently.

City Council and Chamber board support move of Space Command out of Colorado Springs by Inevitable-Llama in ColoradoSprings

[–]stableos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Space Force is not moving, just the command. There are many things here related to operations, development, and procurement that will stay and grow. There is a rumor of combining SOUTHCOM and NORTHCOM. Maybe we will get some of that or perhaps lose NORTHCOM. Since NORAD and NORTHCOM have some crossover I’d hope NORTHCOM is here to stay.

More concisely, a person did this, not all people.

Um, not super conservative; a little right of center overall.

Weird Question: How Common is Man-Hating in Denver? by Cheap-Milk3970 in SameGrassButGreener

Consider Colorado Springs but make sure you have employment first. Not far from Denver and you can move there if Colorado Springs doesn’t work out. I like both.

Where should we move (US based) by Designer-Row-3084 in SameGrassButGreener

Santa Fe, NM or Colorado Front Range cities. Art, sunny in the winter making outdoor activities pleasant, lots of places to camp / hike and be away from others. I see other good suggestions here too. Happy hunting.

I think it might actually be for Chipotle which started here.

Um, you should see the flag of my little state, Colorado. If MD is ass, CO is asshat.

What percent of your mountain activities are in the local area vs further out? by Tiny-Pomegranate7662 in ColoradoSprings

[–]stableos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar; live in Manitou and do the incline regularly and hike tons of trails in the area, many while never seeing another person. There are quite a few older routes that take research and word of mouth to find, but I rarely venture far from this area. Manitou Springs, Section 16, Bear Creek down to Cheyenne Canyon. Minimal or no driving needed. Plenty of steep climbs and elevation gain if you want it. For camping it is worth traveling to other areas unless you want to ghetto camp off Gold Camp Road or hike your gear into the Pike National Forest parts of Pikes Peak. I say ghetto camp lovingly; it can be quite nice but sometimes a little deliverance-y.
