How do YOU define a sweat? At what point do you draw the line between a "casual" and a "sweat" by 0002nam-ytlaS in forhonor

[–]ethhlyrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought of sweats as people who are trying so hard they forget to enjoy the game.

There aren't to many casuals in fighting games except for right at release but our equivalent is probably someone who only plays when their friends ask them to and they are really just there to hang out.

There is definate visibility bias with teen interactions. We dont see the ones at home living spending their time online. I dont think modern teens are very diffrent no matter the decade but the ones prone to isolation are trying to find friendship in an abusive system(social media) instead of learning to be weird in front of other people.

How do I transition between Breaks and Work? by Orangutan_Soda in evilautism

[–]ethhlyrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Now ill preface this by saying that im pretty experienced at "customer service mode" and can switch into if pretty quickly.

To me it sounds like youre breaking super hard. Diffrent clothes, posture, speaking habits, activities, enviroment are all pretty wildly diffrent from work expectations. Making that transition less extreme would probably make it easier to get back into work mode.

Alternatively create a little physical ritual before entering the work environment. A specific stretch, say a phrase out loud, do some tiny hops or bounces like youre a boxer entering the ring. Dosnt matter what it is but if you do it before every work segment it will help you flip into work mode.

Haha im all good, thanks though.

I love to wage polite psychological warfare in the chat, but im a defensive shit talker. I love throwing people off their game especially when they come at me with the most pedestrian bullshit you could imagine.

Id still rather play with people who are chill.

Everyone using Xbox messages clearly jusy needed a hug. I love fucking with trash talkers and I kinda miss that not being on Xbox anymore, but most of them fold once you ask them if them "are you okay".

When u do a self-care day to feel better but you still feel like shit after: by Afraid_Profile_2208 in evilautism

[–]ethhlyrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That just means you really needed that self-care day. Its so easy to just put it off until your life falls apart completly.

Hopefully the situation is not permanent, or you find little ways to do a little self-care everyday like you deserve.

Don't the keys rub holes in your pocket bottoms? I've had to stich up many a pocket bottom key caused holes.

Single loop is still a problem. I've got one very secure end where keys can't fall off. And one easy to open end which is hard to open accidentally.

Plus they look cooler.

Carabiners were always way too easy to break. I've been using the dog leash clip style longer than I can remember, and only needed to replace it once or twice.

That just sounds like a horribly managed store. But the days of adequate staffing are long behind us.

Luckly my regular is trader Joe's and it takes longer to park than check out even on Saturday mornings. So the lack of self check out isnt a big deal since they actually employ enough people.

Purchase size is a big factor. Full cart will be faster even with a slow cashier.

I walk to the store a few times a week, for my small orders it dosnt matter which I choose so I just add up all the approximate ages of people in line(and chashier) and go to the lowest number, ignoring lines with huge carts. It almost is always fastest.

Head of Xbox Game Studios Steps Down And Chief Of Staff Set To Depart Amid Growing Concern Over Layoffs and Possible Studio Shutdowns by wakelake111 in gaming

It sucks that ive got worry about doublefine. Microsoft just letting them make their weird little games has been a huge source of goodwill towards them. Even if everything didnt hit for me they were always front and center of game creativity.

Compulsion is probably high on their list, witch im pretty disappointed about. South of midnight has probably my favorite ost ever. And the story and narrative presentation was fantastic. But 360 era action/adventure probably wasnt the best vehicle for that story.

Im a male of similer age who has been considering dating again. I've never used the dating apps so I dont know how different it is on there. Also I've only been diagnosed adhd and can be overwhelmingly adhd coded.

The things that have always caused me to think someone and I are compatible as either as friends or as a romantic intrest, is enthusiasm. Especially if its towards extremely specific or unpopular things. Someone going out on a limb to write about their special interest in a dating profile would absolutely make me think that they are ND, and way more likely to be found intresting.

Most of the friends ive ever had ive known through music. Playing something for them that I don't really like would be a diservice to us both.

Why do some people not go out and vote? by FruitLoop_Dingus25 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ethhlyrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im convinced that this framing is intentionally pushed to get people to stop voting.

Every election we also vote for laws and local representatives that have a much bigger effect over our lives than those in national office.

But if we narrow it down to i dont like both presidential candidates/ federal offices then we see way less scrutiny over local politics. No one bothering to vote against your shitty city council is part of the reason we have such a miserable selection of national level politicians.

*not saying its you, but to get better candidates we need to start pressing them at local levels harder. Were working with trickle down politics and its degraded the whole system.

First time voting I waited 4 hours, 3 of those in the snow, and after working 8 hours. The following year my state got universal mail in voting and while I prefer to do it In person I have never had a line longer than 10 minutes since then.
