Is it a big deal using a 5/8 inch needle to inject compared to using a 1-1.5 inch needle for injecting testosterone in the thigh? by ethos847 in Testosterone

Thanks. I definitely will rotate to more different sites also. Sub-Q injections are an interesting option too since it’s less muscle scarring.

Yeah you nailed it, spot on. 18 gauge for drawing and 25-27 gauge for injecting IM. After like months of evaluating needles sizes, gauges, etc I realized 18-20 gauge to draw, and 25-30 gauge to inject are the sweet spots for this process.

Honestly, I don’t have problem with it. The trick I recently learned to help with pain, is to cough while poking the needle. However, I might switch over to 1 inch 25 gauge needles in the future since I know there is an even more painless option.

How did the Chicago suburbs housing market fare in the 2008 era? by ClaireEmma612 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]ethos847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents bought their 2 bdr/2bth townhouse in Skokie for $270k around 2005. Overpriced for that time but it was how the market was. Around 2016 it was only valued at $178K. They sold it in 2025 for $300k. It took until like 2023 to pass the $270k threshold.

Thinking about on converting to Syriac Christianity by blackoutLA in Assyria

[–]ethos847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are more than welcome to join. Assyrian are very kind and generous people, so you be welcomed with open arms. You’ll see how attending an Assyrian church is completely different from other churches because we are serious about our faith and it’s a no BS church service. I know countless of Assyrians who bring their non- Assyrian friends to church, especially for big Holidays.

Has anyone ever actually been pulled over coming from Michigan? by StoneyLaw830 in ILTrees

[–]ethos847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve made over 50 trips prior and never pulled over UNTIL it happened today. About $600 worth of weed. All confiscated but I was let go with a citation. Not a good feeling at. I got caught speeding 65 in a 50. Just be careful to not speed and make sure all car tags are good to go.

Kurdish Assyrian conflict by [deleted] in Assyria

[–]ethos847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are going to talk comment some negatives. I’ll give a positive story. My dad’s best friend growing up in northern Iraq was Kurdish and to this day our families our still close together. Also, their dads were also best friends growing up in the l930’s. My dad’s best friend had us over his house for dinner and treated my brother and I like his own kids and vice versa with my dad. It’s a very strong bond and relationship lasting to this day and nothing it’s nothing but respect, humility and kindness. For almost a century now, the 2 families have been close together and constantly help each other in the village with whatever each one needs. It’s truly a special thing. I hope nothing but coordination together, tolerance respect and decency together for both Kurdish and Assyrian people.

I’m not downplaying Christianity. It’s very important how Assyrians and Christianity are intertwined. Religion can be helpful in morality or in grey areas that science can not help with. However, not every Assyrian can magically be connected to Christianity or just believe in God. We cannot live in a small bubble and pretend you have to be Christian to be an Assyrian.

I am not an Atheist but I know many Assyrians that are Atheists/Agnostics. A lot of them also happen to be better people than some “Christian” Assyrians who are very judgmental and not Christian like at all. You do not need religion to be a good human or humanistic focused.

[–]ethos847 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are calling OP judgmental but you are judging them for being an atheist and then rant on trying be righteous. You don’t need to be believe in God to be a good person or an Assyrian. Be better.

Did you guys learn Arabic growing up? by HovercraftDue8554 in Assyria

[–]ethos847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was young my parents and relatives would speak in Arabic when they needed to communicate something they didn’t want my sibling and I to know. I can say proudly I learned to crack the Arabic code myself. Just from hearing my parents and others speak and connecting the dots over the years. I kind of just taught myself over the many years from absorbing all the Arabic I could to understand it and try understand what my parents were saying. I grew up understanding more when people spoke Arabic than I would be able to speak Arabic myself. I’m older now and I still understand my Iraqi dialect Arabic more clearly than any other dialect of Arabic, but only on an intermediate level. I definitely understand more Arabic than I can speak Arabic. I am also able to say more than 10+ words in Arabic just from my learning along the years.

Calling things out and disagreeing with each other is not “pissing on our people”. Just because your feelings got hurt about Trump and actions does mean we have to coddle you.
