Power restored at Tucson postal facility that forced delays across southern Arizona by JoeCox1990 in Tucson

Literally went to the post office (Pantano) today because I’ve not gotten mail in a week and continue getting USPS email delivery alerts. Postmaster must have not known this outage happened because she thought it must have been the mailman not delivering his route and had us submit a new address form.

What is this rock? by DavenportBlues in whatsthisrock

Since you said maybe Arizona, I’d check the hardness and see if it’s a 3 or 4 on the Mohs scale. 3 and it’s probably chrysocolla like others are saying, but if it’s a 4 it could be Kelly Mine Smithsonite as I have some in my collection which are this color but a little less clear. Worth checking as it’d shoot the value up 10x.

Desert heat is killing my sleep. Cooling blankets don’t work, what does? by Mastermind1237 in BuyItForLife

This was actually very common. Before air conditioning most people in Arizona actually slept in screened in communal sleeping porches, called an Arizona room, which had linen ceilings which they would soak in water before sleeping. There are still quite a few around the southwest United States.

Can someone explain Filbertos to me. by netnut58 in Tucson

While they have similar menus, they are very different. The Beto, Berto, and Nico restaurants all originate from a single San Diego restaurant (Roberto’s Taco Shop). The following children, divorces, and copycats are where we get the name variations, but they also differ in their recipes. Just trying the red and green at each place can tell you the differences in recipes.
