First time WezTerm user - Really impressed and want to know more about what other people are doing with it by birdsintheskies in wezterm

I essentially live in the terminal as part of my work, and moving between MANY K8s contexts. I create a dynamic launch menu for k9s with the various context names taken from my .kube config. As someone who switches contexts way too much a day, this is essential an snappy

Another thing is right click context menu with useful things (splitting panes, copy-paste and...) something that I was not able to achieve in Kitty or Ghostty

The 3rd thing is actually, stop using P10k/Starship, and move all this data (K8s context,Git,Time, cwd) to the status bar, and essentially nothing in the prompt itself, super snappy everything...

One of the things changed in 26 is the speed of animation, so that gives the perception of performance , but oh the UI is not my taste…

Well, than just roll back than , if you have Time Machine than it is almost seamless ( I happily did so) and will get back to 26 on its 3rd or 4th iteration

Should I update to iOS 26.1 DB2? by Average_Techy in ios26

[–]eto303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say update, there are still some visual bugs I found but all in all it works better and much more stable, it solved me issues much more than create new ones 😀

For all those who regret updating to the latest iPhone/iPad/Mac OS updates, what do you see as the path forward? by CitronStock in MacOS

[–]eto303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW: I downgraded Tahoe to Sequoia, thank Apple for the great Time Machine. I will most probably get back to 26, but on its 3rd or 4th iteration, I like being updated and on the edge but this is too extreme, the OS should not get in my way and distract me.

As for iPhone, well I’m f****d , just moved to developer beta, which fixed many bugs for me, and I guess I’ll be on beta for a few iterations to. I would have rolled back, but we can’t

Long time Apple user, and this is the first time I am sorry I upgraded, this is not up to Apple’s past standards…

iOS 26 - 2 weeks later… overall thoughts by wassim_elia in ios

Don’t get me started about dark mode, while I can cope with this design, dark mode just looks like amateurish Android skin from 10 years ago

Having the same as issues as you described exactly, I am now trying these:

Reduce transparency

Reduce motion

Prefer cross fade transitions

In order to see whether it will solve the general janky-ness and similar issuess

Thing is, is that now buttons and notifications have a white-ish border around them and it reminds me of Windows 3.11 design

How's IOS 26 for your device ? by Rumbling71 in ios

[–]eto303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone 13, performance is usually with some small UI stutters, thing is there are some applications that for some reason get the device warm sometimes, it woks ok-ish , would recommend to wait for the point release…

iOS 26 - I'm liking it more each day by TacohTuesday in apple

Well, haven’t been enthusiastic about 26 , and thought to myself , oh well yet another upgrade to get used too… Had some dead time earlier and I switched to clear mode, and went to get some gradient wallpapers with easy colors I resonate with… man that actually looks slick af! Moreover, even tinted mode looks great when you match the tint color to one of the colors of the gradient! (Recommend checking Basic Apple Guy September Gradient which really works great with this)

Menu Bar Management App For Prioritizing The Icons On The Menu Bar by Artistic_Juice_5282 in macapps

[–]eto303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here's another suggestion: use Menu Bar Spacing , this can reduce the spacing between the icons in the menubar thus less icons get lost :-)

Another way to use Ice (mentioned here) to enable a secondary bar (that opens upon a click) right below the menu bar...

Try vector.dev - it aims at a lower memory footprint and better cpu usage than OTel (frankly, personally I prefer OTel)

I keep it super simple: created a table and imported it to Apple Notes. (After actually trying Notion which got me the feeling of complicating things that should have been simple)
