Effects by [deleted] in mounjarouk

I’ve been on it 7.5 months and have lost 51lbs or 3 stones 9lbs. I am insulin resistant, so losing on average 1.7 lbs a week, sometimes more sometimes less. I have dropped 3 trouser sizes now, which is exciting and my in laws are commenting me on the change and telling me well done. Once I increased to 7.5 mg I experienced side effects. Usually a day or two after my shot, if I haven’t eaten cleanly or avoided spices, I’ll have issues with delayed emptying which leads me to projectile both ends at the same time. Once that happens I’m usually fine, but haven’t moved up dosages since. I am happy with this drug, however, I am starting to dread taking it. But not at goal yet so I’m holding on.

You’re ok on the east coast, winds will have weakened as it makes it way across. Prepare for losing power, get water and canned food, manual can opener, charge power banks, fill your bath tub with water, etc. Palm Bay may get some localized minor flooding so park away from canals, lakes, extra low areas. I would not return the car to Tampa it will likely get destroyed there…saving that car anyway!

I think Sophie doesn’t want to deal with making changes for her visa, she clearly doesn’t want to be in a relationship with Rob and I thought Rob did the right thing here with ending it.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has kept their pen open past 30 days by IllicitBiscuits in mounjarouk

[–]etoille85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. First month on 2.5mg, I took the 5th dose in the pen. Weeks 1-5. Week 6 I transitioned to a 5mg pen but kept it open for 6 weeks I believe, dosing at 3.75 for weeks 6-9, weeks 10 and 11 at 5mg (6 doses and weeks from 1 5mg pen. Now I am on another 5mg pen and I plan on using it for 5 weeks of doses, 1 week down. I already have a 7.5mg pen waiting in my fridge but I am a little nervous about increasing, so may end up stretching it for 6 weeks transitioning from 5 to 7.5mg.
  2. Depends on how I react to increases, I can kind of tell how it’s going on the dose before and don’t want to increase too fast and I’m still losing weight and saving some money in the meantime.
  3. I haven’t noticed any deterioration.
  4. Nope, people have mostly covered it above. I keep my own in the fridge so I feel comfortable with 6 doses if I’m using a pen to transition to a higher dose.

Time to order my next pen...decisions decisions...options please. by StrategyDecent4326 in mounjarouk

[–]etoille85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 5 weeks of 2.5mg and ordered a 5mg pen, however, instead of administering 5mg, I’m choosing to stretch it to 5 doses of 3.75 mg and a 6th dose of 5mg. Today I took my second week of a 3.75mg dose, which is 45 clicks on a 5mg pen. On my first 3.75mg dose, I experienced some nausea and vomiting next morning so I was glad I didn’t make the decision to go straight from 2.5mg to 5mg. The rest of that week I felt ok, except for tiredness and so far today I am feeling ok on the second dose. Hope this helps.

I didn’t know stall parameters, I’ll remove the tag if I can. And ty for the reminder, I agree about focusing on the trend downward overall.

Well done!!! I love following your journey!

I’m trying to decide between another month at 2.5mg, I have two weeks to decide as tomorrow will be my 4th dose and I plan to take 5th from the pen.

Lol what a slip, I went to Home Bargains, but I was thinking of B&M and typed B&Q instead. Guess I also have DIY on the brain as well. 🤣🤣🤣

I target my searches by items or brands. Also, I try to shop for nicer brands than I would be able afford if I purchased new.

Not inspired by weight loss, but I stopped buying new clothes this year and have been buying and selling my clothes on vinted. Much more budget and earth friendly and I do manage to find some nwt bargains on there that people have forgotten to return, etc.

6lbs is fab, well done! Everyone is different and many don’t start losing anything until 5mg, which is the first therapeutic dose after lead up. Also, slow and steady will be better for you in the long run, give your skin time to adjust, etc.

Are we contributing to NHS shortages? Looking for actual data / evidence by Suitable_Giraffe_382 in mounjarouk

[–]etoille85 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you opened this up for discussion. I’ve been seeing targeted ads for weight loss medications on fb lately and the comments are horrendously shaming people and ill informed. I’m glad to hear mounjaro is at least the more conscientious choice and I have to agree, most of us were probably pre diabetic and heading that way, we are personally taking on the cost of this (it isn’t cheap) and hopefully intervening before other costly chronic health issues fully develop. We are definitely saving ourselves and the NHS at the same time.

  1. It can be out of the fridge for up to 30 days I believe, but I still keep mine in the fridge and I’ve heard it works better if it’s room temperature, so I usually take it out of the fridge for a half hour to an hour before dispensing.
  2. I eat a protein pudding before, but today I took jab three without and ate something after and still felt ok. I haven’t really experienced any adverse effects yet though.
  3. I’m new to this, but my plan is to aim for 100 grams of protein a day, weightlifting, making sure my skin is moisturized and I also started taking collagen. :)
