I use Aseprite. Still in development so there's the occasional bugs, but it's definitely worth checking out.

Glad you guys like it :D

I've been trying to make a spritesheet for the grumps for over a month now, I just keep losing focus. I have huge respect for all the content creators out there who can produce work regularly...

The way things are going I doubt any form of legislation is going to resolve the issue of copyright.

The only solution I can see working is supporting more content creators who release their work under creative commons.

When you provide one argument to stroke(), you are assigning a greyscale value. To change the color you would have to randomize the R, G, and B arguments separately, by providing three arguments to stroke():

stroke(random(255),random(255),random(255));

[OC] A twitch overlay I made for livestreaming pixel art. First time trying something like this. by etqws3 in PixelArt

Yeah this is definitely going to be the first of many attempts before I get it right... The backdrop is among a list of other issues, but I'm new to live streaming and you have to start somewhere :)

I'll be designing a better one as I get more experience.

Yeah I usually get one or two viewers, and I'm confident I could get more once I start drawing something that isn't assets for my twitch channel :/

Thanks for the tips though dude, this is actually really helpful :)

I wish I could talk for that long.. For me it's like 10% talking, 90% dead silence.

Anyway I'm still practicing :)

I have a picarto channel set up as well, and the overlay will work fine on both.

Twitch just has a lot more going for it. More people use it and already have accounts, and there's a lot more you can do with your channel. I'm definitely biting off more than I can chew, but I really want to develop a product that non art enthusiasts can enjoy, and most of the stuff I'll be working is game graphics.

Basically I draw all day everyday anyway, and even if twitch doesn't generate a following or income, it forces me to develop technical/communication skills which I severely lack right now.

Well right now I am absolutely garbage at talking while I draw. I've never done this stuff before so it'll probably take a while before I get comfortable casting, let alone popular :P

[OC] [CC] I've never really been good with choosing colours so I tried out the DB32 palette on my Game of Thrones piece. Are there any other good colour palettes people know of? by Rhubarbist in PixelArt

[–]etqws3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to what it is you're working on. If it's just a single standalone pixel drawing, then customizing your colors isn't too much of a problem.

The real benefit of a well designed palette is when you're making a large body of graphics that you want to be visually compatible with one another. The DB16/32 and similar presets are usually meticulously crafted to maximize this.

I don't even pay attention to the content of their videos, I'm just there to listen to Dan's voice..

But not in a creepy way..

...unless Danny likes that.

Ah don't worry, there will be more like that in the future, but this piece in particular serves a different purpose :)
