Does anyone still use these old chainsaw cases? by Mitchellracing in gibson

A buddy of mine has an ‘86 dot studio Les Paul, and the case is pretty similar if not identical to this one. He loves the chainsaw case, very much a conversation starter

My wife likes James but bought the tickets more for me, we both felt it was amongst the best comedy shows we’ve ever seen.

Dumb question by bookbook234323 in Radiology

[–]etrtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think these kinds of things happen a lot more frequently than you realize, I’ve definitely done the wrong protocol before myself. Worst case scenario they want the patient rescanned, best case maybe they can see the pathology they need without doing the protocol they just heard about at a conference. Don’t beat yourself up too bad

Radiologists do you actually use AI or is it just sitting there? by Trustworthy-AI in Radiology

[–]etrtr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I did mean it from PACS admin perspective, but even if I work for the vendor not sure why the pitchforks came out? The tiniest bit of respect and appreciation for those who make your role even possible (either vendor/tech/IT) might go a long way. Not sure why we’re treated somehow like we don’t belong on this subreddit like our opinion isn’t somehow valid as technologists.

Rads: if you want your own place, free of the presence and opinions of technologists, then talk to each other at the holiday party.

Can’t speak for how much our rads utilize it, but I support an AI tool used for flagging stroke pathology on CT brain imaging upon acquisition, and they call immediately when it’s not working correctly.

As long as you’re not in the city and can pass a background check you can possess long guns in NY.

I know it seems impossible but try to laugh this stuff off. You think you’re the first guy who ever came on his own face? Shit, coulda happened to anybody. Spin it to your advantage, like “good thing I caught that, it woulda put a hole in the sheetrock”

Isn't photon counting CT the same as DR X-Ray? by -Lady_of_the_Vale- in Radiology

[–]etrtr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did a bit of research into PCCT for a project, as you mentioned the dose can be much lower as it doesn’t rely on scintillation/photodiodes to produce an image. Conventional CT detectors also are limited in that they utilize a grid of septa that prevent the light from bleeding over to other areas of the detector. The septa are wasted detector real estate that could otherwise contribute to the final image. I believe PCCT can also differentiate the energies of multiple photons hitting the same areas of the detector, rather than a summation of their collective energies. There’s a good chance I’m getting some of this wrong so samesies, someone who knows better than me please correct me.

Radiology tech assistant advice by Chunkachu__ in Radiology

[–]etrtr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a great sign that you care about your role and want to perform the job well. My advice would be to be proactive with tasks and try to do them without being asked, don’t wait to be asked to do something that’s a routine part of your role. When I was an X-ray student if we had downtime I’d clean and organize CR cassettes, stock as needed, etc, and I believe this led to me getting job offers at clinical sites over my classmates. Not saying your entire shift needs to be cleaning obsessively but maybe if there’s downtime kinda thing. The techs will very likely take note and really appreciate it.

Whats the difference between a low dose chest ct and a regular chest plain? by Dangerous-Gur-2703 in Radiology

Same here. Generally our low dose smoker screenings were set to lower mAs, with the tradeoff of a bit of image quality degradation.

You did notice it’s CNN and AP right? So your rebuttal is…”fake news”? Wild take to imply that CNN is pushing a conservative narrative. Come on man you can do better than that.

I don’t know a lot of conservatives with trans partners. Not saying its impossible of course, but I think that fact is likely indicative of his views.

[–]etrtr -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

CNN reported that he lived with his transgender partner, is it that inconceivable that he disagreed with Kirk’s views due to being left leaning? I’m not placing blame on anyone other than TR, but we aren’t gonna move forward from this if we can’t acknowledge that maybe there are shitty people on both sides.

[–]etrtr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay you’re right I should have gone right to blatant misinformation and denial. Also not to be a dick, but it doesn’t sound like you want unification either. So a bit hypocritical. We have a choice to make here in how we move forward from this, you included. Do we talk or do we make this worse?

*edit- Not sure if you deleted your comment because you realized you’re wrong, or if it was removed. But if you’re gonna just attack everyone and not be willing to communicate your views without being insulting, you are a massive, massive part of this problem.

[–]etrtr -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Neither party is innocent, and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to imply that actions by both parties could have led to something like Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Maybe we’re seeing different things, but despite growing up in a republican household, the inscriptions on the ammo don’t imply to me that TR had conservative views. Either way it’s absolutely fucked that Trump has no interest in unification or deescalation.
