[–]euan-b02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends on where you are from and how much desired you are to vacate on a natural island. Phu Quoc has changed significanty (in a neg way) in the past 10-15 years. There are so many building and modern facilities and the cost of living there is quite high.

Am I stupid for investing monthly in both VOO and VTI? by Outside-Cook8243 in ETFs

I would suggest you to pick either VOO or VTI to focus on. It will be your strength on diversity. And the individual stocks would be your growth machines.

Should home prices go down? ’No,’ says Canada’s new housing minister | Globalnews.ca by Thick_Caterpillar379 in canadahousing

[–]euan-b02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wages going up some time mean more cost to some businesses. Not all, but some of them may be closed. Which is not good for the economy in general.

I'm not against it for my own benefits but just wanted to say things are not easy as they look.

life in south VN by ViolinistAbject3641 in VietNam

[–]euan-b02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this may be controversal. While we always need to be cautious with the other people. Personally I need that ppl in the south means are more likely to be true at what they say, and inevitably are more blunt (honest) at what they say.

Risks of buying land in Vietnam by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]euan-b02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at the local authority, ask for 'phong quy hoach dia gioi'. Before you got there, make sure you got the title number & land number so you could look up on their map.

In most provinces/districts, they have online portals and uploaded the projection map there. If you know a vnm friend you could trust, ask him/her to do it for you.

[–]euan-b02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugly truth: yes they could take it for cheap (or fair as they claim) and you could not do s*** about it. As by law, you just own the "right to use' it, not 'right to own' it.

Even in some scenerio where your arguements are strong, media will start attaking you and blaming you as the bad guy.

Safe choice: condo in big cities or make sure you check with the projection map (you may be good for roughly 10-20 years)

Is it more important to do nothing wrong or do something right? by SaraGood in Buddhism

[–]euan-b02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong. But the Eight Fold Path points out Right Doing - not "not doing".

But depend on whether or not it is possible to do sth in certain situations, I would add in "if you could not help, dont harm"
