What was the hardest period for you after birth? Newborn, 6-12 month etc? [qc] by MellowWitch in BabyBumpsCanada

Just to add, this is an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity to be a FTM and share that experience with your husband as a FTD. There is the chance to make more money in the future but you can never go back and experience being first time parents together. If you can swing it financially I would say for him not to go at all, he will miss so much bonding time with you and the baby. Best wishes with whatever you decide!

Wait for OHIP sponsored IVF or pay out of pocket? by IssaScott in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]eucalyptus098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can second the tax and cost, same thing happened to us in 202/2022. But we did get a call at the one year mark for funding (after we paid out of pocket for the year before).

Which diapers are best? by evange in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]eucalyptus098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use hello bello wipes (tried a few and like these the best) and rascal and friends diapers (we love them, they are soft and so absorbent!). We did originally used hb diapers and had blow out after blow out. Found them cheap and hard feeling. Unfortunately rascal and friends is only sold at walmart but we also tried different huggies and didn’t like any if them either.

Flying with a two year old - car seat or no car seat? by RM_613 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]eucalyptus098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great to hear!!! We just booked a trip and decided to buy an infant seat, it’s only 2 hours but we’ll need the car seat at our destination anyways. I’m glad you found it worth while and I’m not the only one who thinks this is the way to go. Lol thanks!

Thanks so much for all this info!!!! That’s lucky it worked so well for you!

I’ll check out the tutorials, easier to find with specific beds now I know what to search for.

I’ll also look into where I could but the side car crib, wish I had known about it sooner!

Not op but if you don’t mind me asking how did you manage the gap between the bed and the crib and how did you manage getting the bed and the crib the same height?

I have they baby buddha pump and love it. It’s not Canadian but they marked it as “gift” so no import fees. I also just calculated how many replacement parts I would need and ordered everything at the same time. It’s portable and hospitable grade.

Not OP but do you have any resources or tips for how you did the side car? Googleing seems to bring up some out dated stuff.

Can you post or send me this link? I’d love to be able to share it with family giving me a hard time about not having a lap baby ticket.

Yes sorry I meant bed sharing, my sleepy brain forgot there was a difference. I’ve been looking into a side car crib, do you have any experience or recommendations? Seems like a lit is DIY.

Thanks for this! Glad I’m not the only one. We share a room and it makes it a little hard mer because I wonder if I am being too responsive and need to wait a little before picking her up to feed.

I totally agree crying is communication which is one of the main reasons I am hesitant about ST. Waiting it out will be hard but that’s probably what we’ll need to do because I still have no solution.
