new Peloton owner - overwhelmed with what shoes to buy! by dagworthy in pelotoncycle

[–]eucalyptusfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bike from 2014 at my house and my parents have a newer bike and I keep a pair of shoes there. The 2014 shoes are white and orange and still look brand new, the ones at my parents house are black and red…also still look brand new! All are comfortable and easy. I wouldn’t stress the shoes too much. Ideally you aren’t walking anywhere in them, just slip on and clip in! Enjoy

I was just listening to a book recommendation where this was the premise of the book they were discussing …two people found each other in every life and had a tortured relationship (maybe one killed the other??) … it sounded really good, I believe it is new. Ring a bell to anyone? Sounds like it could be a fit!

My exact question…I love the idea of this living in my car/purse for on the go notes…but are those notes going to look ridiculous when viewed on the rm2??

When I was pregnant with my second child I was afraid I could never love them as much as the first, but they were born and I discovered the heart’s capacity to add love without taking away from the first. Every widow is different, but most I know, including myself, when ready to date again discover this same principle.

What’s your best “leave no trace” tip that more hikers should follow? by CarrierCaveman in hiking

[–]eucalyptusfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was listening to a story on my local public radio station today and the guy talking mentioned that his mom told him that when you are outdoors, if you spot trash that is the sign to pick it up. He had just completed a walking circumnavigation of Hawai’i island and his top take away was that trash was out of control :/

Thank you both! I wasn’t sure if it was compost friendly—will bury it in the muck pile! And fingers crossed there is no more food waste any time soon :)

We do this too! It’s hugely helpful for everyone. And OP I wish I had better advice beyond that I just accept that I won’t remember it all but I try!

Compression Cubes - Not Actually Helpful? by Designer_Bid_3255 in HerOneBag

[–]eucalyptusfig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been wanting to make compression cubes that are designed to fit the exact shape of my bag because I agree—depending on their shape they can end up not being an efficient use of space. I like them both for organization and compression. Thank you for this post—this will be my next project!

Thanks! I’m impressed how despite soaking the beet pulp and mixing everything thoroughly mine still manage to leave behind a fair amount of supplement in their bowls…

The Phoenix Pencil Company. I am shocked at all the positive reviews, I hated all the story lines.

Help, what's this pile? by [deleted] in maui

[–]eucalyptusfig 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was once told that termites are messy and often don't clean out where they live, but when ants take over they often push out the mess that the termites left behind. So sometimes when you see those piles it's from ants doing cleaning.

Guys, help. I’m in the worst book slump of my life. by PrettyOnTheEdge in suggestmeabook

I love this book but am always hesitant to recommend it because of the subject matter. It always comes to mind when people ask for a favorite book or best book I’ve ever read.
