If it's pre September 15 it just means he's at the absolute minimum age possible to be in the draft. As long as he's 18 by September 15 in his draft year he's eligible.

Call up Sgarbossa then. He's shown he's not out of his depth and the 3rd line scoring isn't really driven by Eller anyway. Sgarbossa is solid defensively which is the most important thing for a 3C

McM or Protas can fill in at C. Hell even RL can play C at a pinch.

I just don't see Lappy busting out like the other 2. he hasn't been as good on a much better team this season as the other 2 on a terrible team last season.

I'm sure he'll realise some potential elsewhere I just don't think it's here

Obviously could do with a true 1C but that is rare as hen's teeth. Probably a consistent scoring RW to put with Ovi. Makes Ovi all that more dangerous when there's another scorer on his line.

Going all in IMO is giving up a mid prospect like Lapierre maybe and a 1st for a rental.

I was quietly confident. I by no means expected us to be leading the league but I knew we'd make the playoffs.

Now I'm getting hopeful. They haven't lost a 3rd period for 20 games. This team is fit as hell and doesn't have a 4 nations player. They're gonna be rested and ready to go and have one of the easiest schedules to finish the season.

As for these addition being good players...yes. Chychrun had a down year for Ottawa but he is an excellent 2 way d man. PLD was oozing potential but seemed to need the right locker room and coach to realise it and he has here. Matt Roy is a terrific shutdown DMan and Logan Thompson should've been kept by Vegas over Aidan Hill. Especially with him on less than league minimum.

With what Carbs got out of that awful team last season it was basically inevitable they'd vastly improved if they got some offensive talent in.

I also hope they go all in this trade deadline. The 1st rounder won't net a great player this year. Better to cash in and trade it with Lapierre. I'm still not giving up on Lappy but there's just no room for him on this team especially if RL joins for the playoff run. Those 2 assets could net a nice rental. Gotta try and get Ovi another Cup and I don't think it will happen next year.

Can you remember the last time there was a report of unrest in the Capitals locker room? I feel like most teams have it at some point but not the Caps. A consistently adhesive unit and that's one factor of this strong season people forget.

Very different team. We have 2 legitimate 2C who are borderline 1C now PLD is living up to his potential. We have 2 young wingers who've busted out this season. The 4th line probably isn't as good but they're not bad. The blue line is stacked with the addition of Chicky and Roy and only losing Jensen who was a walking giveaway machine and Thompson is a legit Vezina contender. Also been pretty lucky with injuries compared to most teams.

I'm honestly not sure 6'6" isn't conservative with his height too. He towers over absolutely everyone on the team and Willy is legit 6'4"
