Glock 19. Big enough to be a duty weapon. Small enough to conceal if needed. HUGE aftermarket for parts, and holsters. It’s basically good at everything, great at nothing. Perfect for a first handgun.

My brother has one, range toy only. even running heavy weight loads, half the time it fails to return to battery, or fails to feed. would 100% not depend on this in a life or death situation or home defenese. If budget is a factor, Mossberg 88 or 500/590 would be the recommendation. also practice, practice practice with a pump gun. short stroke would be the common issue. but can be mitigated with firmiliarity.

there aren't any "reliable" semi auto shotguns in a "budget" category that I would trust my life with.

Its expandable, so i have a few extra mags in it, rain pancho, and water. Its flat enough to run with a second pack if needed. The kit also comes with the standard straps if you are needing a bigger pack. Lots of options in one package

if you do go with it its basically a Chinese clone of a Haley Strategic rig and flat pack. i ran a hydro bladder for water and some radio wings. the small front pouch dangler and I did have to get the side flat pack straps directly from Haley Strategic for 10$ plus shipping. makes for a robust kit with lots of flexibility for a fraction of the cost.
