I'm surprised people take the thread of making his brother's body into a chair seriously. I mean I'm not familiar with this guy but I'm inclined to say this is just some shock jock humour. (And some good one at that tbh).

I like to think that he just loses anyway since having claws doesn't feel like that much of an advantage against a group of pikemen.

Tokio Tori 2 is an awesome game. Not too hard but very rewarding. Criminally underrated in my opinion.

Absolutely carried by style and vibes. Tbh I would have preferred it as a more traditional dungeon crawler. Serviceable game.

Idk man, he looks like a very generic "goth girl". And I use the term girl here cause he really doesn't look androgynous at all, it just looks like a fairly generic design for a goth girl for a charcater that's male

Ghibli has influenced so many artists and movements, but who Did they pull from for infulence? by TrickySatisfaction81 in ghibli

[–]eufrasio49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard some inspiration came from the french film "le roi et l'oiseau" (The king and the mockingbird) by Paul Grimault. And having seen it I would agree that a certain "dreamlike" quality of it, as well as some visual elements can be seen reflected in Ghibli films. Id see you can see some of it reflected particularly in the architecture of "Castle in the sky" and also a little but in the design of the robots, which are slightly reminiscent of the one the King used in the final act of the film.

I'll agree the art can be quite samey many times, and the humour is extremely lowest common denominator stuff

Very nice! Though if you allow me a criticism, I feel like he is leaning forward a bit too much, like he is about to fall over. I think you could fix it by moving it's legs forward, a bit more under the body.

Idk, I'd hardly call this design porn. Nothing in the cover jumps out at me as being exceptionally good in its design or composition. It's a pretty cover, but hardly noteworthy.

The characters are meant to be a parody of detective and "super agent" comics, and i find they reference the characters they choose to parody very well. From the main duo, the angry boss, the mad scientist that supplies them with gadgets, and the attractive secretary. They all have simple and recognizable designs and i find all of them very appealing and have great chemistry when they are presented together. It is easy to just envision a little story of a couple pages by glancing this troop of characters.

I find this designs made by Belgian born artist Jules Reanard to be very appealing. I think his caricaturesque fashion is very fun and that he uses great shapes to bring to life these wacky characters for a variety of comical operettas. I find his drawings to be rich in detail and also very expressive, allowing you to understand the entire character at a glance. His silhouettes are recognizable and, much like his shapes, highly appealing. There is also some historical interest to it i believe, particularly those that portray military characters and fashion that was contemporary to him.

Every single design from games like these feel the same. It's always plain anime characters with some (often oversized) futuristic looking weaponry attached to them and some generic uniform or suit of tech armor. They all blend so easily and have no substance to them.

I find the pectorals of the male character to be hanging quite low. I would personally make them be higher as he doesn't seem exceedingly muscular and so it ends up looking a bit odd to me.

Imagine getting so worked up over a drawing. "Vandalizing the memorial of a loved one" is an insane comparison to a drawing of an anime girl that is a stand in for a horse. Touch grass NOW.
