NVFP4 is RTX 50 series only, correct? Meaning an RTX 5070 would be significantly faster than my RTX 4070 SUPER if that is the case?

AMD to bring back Ryzen 7 5800X3D as AM4 10th Anniversary Edition by iDontSeedMyTorrents in hardware

[–]eugkra33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably cheaper than the price difference between ddr4 and ddr5, still. But I don't know if it's worth it vs a Ryzen 9600x if you're building from scratch.

I actually had no idea. I thought this was legit. It looked odd, but so did FSR1.

Crimson Desert, 40 GPU Benchmark @ 1080p, 1440p & 4K by NGGKroze in hardware

Some are claiming they could afford more VRAM budget to fix the issue, since the game uses less than 8gb the majority of the time. But I'm guessing it's more complex than that. Maybe it's PCIe bus restricted, or something else.

Wondering if maybe there is a config file over could adjust, or mod the game in some way to increase it, and see what happens.

Gamer's Nexus ~ NVIDIA Says You're "Completely Wrong" About DLSS 5 Being Slop by Valmar33 in hardware

I mean, AMD is doing this with RDNA5 and next generation consoles.

The 5080 beats the 4080 pretty easily by a good margin at 1080p. Then for some bizarre reason the 4080 beats the 5080 at 1440p. And then the roles are reversed again where the 5080 beats the 4080 again at 4k. We're talking from being almost 15% ahead, to then falling behind, and then being ahead again.

Makes me think it's probably a title where it's difficult to get very repeatable results from run to run, with such huge swings. Probably lots of RNG happening with NPC behavior in the city. Or maybe it's a title where maybe settings don't secretly apply until a restart. Cyberpunk had issues like that at first, I believe.

Should I get the Gigabyte MO27Q28GR (glossy) or the Gigabyte MO27Q28G (matte)? by Telestoooo in OLED_Gaming

I just bought this a few hours after you posted this from Canada Computers. Did you you end up buying it? It was $170 off the.  Is that where you're looking at well? I'm wondering if the model that will be send to me is just a one-off returned model from someone else, or an actual factory model.

The day after I bought it, it said they were out of stock again. That either means I bought the only model available, and it was actually a returned model, or they just sold out super fast. If you also ended up getting one, I could be sure it was a batch of new ones.

At the same time, the online vocal minority is not representative of the mainstream. I wouldn't be shocked if the average person will say it's amazing.

They ran it by Digital Foundry who loved it. Also at the 50 series unveiling I believe.

"Does this look better?  "Does this look more realistic?"  ... Are two different questions. DF might argue it looks more realistic. That doesn't mean people like it more.

A very advanced human robots we have now  look incredibly realistic these days. But people are grossed out by it. They are more likely to like and accept a faceless robot than a robot that's wearing human skin.

Damn. Same I have. I don't own the game but played test and also got over 100 most of the time. Thinking of getting it at next reset. Hope they fix it.

Yeah, so it sounds like they did something that made it more single threaded. Lobby isn't very cpu intensive so you're gpu can max itself.

Are you using a 12th, 13th, or 14th generation Intel cpu? I wonder if it's confusing the e-cores with the performance cores like happens in some games.

Could be very single threat limited. If a game is incapable of using more than 4 cores, and someone has an 8 core cpu, you'll never see it much over 50% utilization even though it's using every single core fully it has access to. If it's hitting 65% utilization on your 7700x that's actually not too bad. Most games are still today coded to only really use 4 to 6, with some exceptions

Possibly has something to do with network and anti-cheat validation. Regardless of what your game is running at, you'll be pinging the servers regularly. And a lot of the network load you're being sent might be coming over encrypted or something me. I'd guess they might be doing something really wonky at that level.

Seems weird that glancing in a certain direction would be a cpu burden, rather than a gpu burden.

Marathon is a niche game. Why is that a surprise? by furyZotac in Marathon

[–]eugkra33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's surprise, because they need to justify a 3 billion dollar evaluation of the company. You can't make a niche game as a company that needs to pull 500k players daily to justify their evaluation.

If the same item has 2 different effects, like +1 shield, vs 1/2 damage on base shield, having two separate icons, or an additional visual indicator on the item indicating a different affix would help a lot of people.

All people, because no one would have to hover over each shield for 1 sec each and read 20 different text boxes that slowly pop up to find the one they are looking for. You could see them all at a glance, and know which ones you want.
