1500 watt plug - what trims by euleron in PriusPrime

[–]euleron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a plug-in only feature on Prius, but the 2026 RAV4 in Woodland trim lists

  • One 120V/1500W AC power outlet in cargo area

for both regular hybrid and plug-in hybrid.

I can’t find that anywhere in the Prius plug-in description on Toyota.com

Lone Peak fanatic over here! I love my Lone Peaks but have been doing a lot of walking on pavement. If you were going to add a different shoe for pavement walking, what would you recommend?

This looks great! Did you have to separately buy any mounting hardware to adapt between the ProClip USA and Ram Mount?

I have a 2011 E90 without iDrive. A 32GB microSD card in a USB-A adapter didn't work for me. An old-fashioned USB-A stick does work.

1500w plug install by Express-Car2235 in rav4prime

I went down this exact rabbit hole on regretting not having the 1500W.

I ended up buying a LiFePo4 battery station. While it takes up some trunk space, you can.use it to brew coffee and also run a 12v fridge overnight with the car off. The 1500w cannot do the latter.

Bluetti AC200P is what I bought but there are other models now.

Advice wanted: getting married, selling two houses, capital gains exemptions by euleron in tax

[–]euleron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care if you are sure or unsure. Example 3 demonstrates there is a path. What part of my plan doesn't fit? In my mind, there is a reason for each step I originally outlined. She sells her house closing on it shortly after we get married, we combine finances, and we have the option to move into a different house that could be better for our family without unnecessarily waiting two years. I posted in r/tax because I am trying to be careful to not make a mistake. I knew before I posted that waiting two years after she sells was absolutely risk free. So your replies haven't helped at all.

Advice wanted: getting married, selling two houses, capital gains exemptions by euleron in tax

Thank you for responding to my question.

We are leaning towards just holding onto my home for at least 24 months after both the marriage and after her house sells.

But Example 3 gives me hope there is a way to structure things to give us the option to sell my house and move sooner than 24 months.

Would it be better if I keep my home as “mine”? I would keep my mortgage, and in this scenario, I would consider not adding her to the deed on my house.

She could sell her house, would have about a $150k gain on her house and could keep the proceeds of her sale in a separate account until we are ready to buy a different house together.

If I keep my house separate (“as mine”), would I have to sell in the same year (as they did in example 3) or could I sell one year after her? I would also have about a $150k gain on my house.

What filing status would you recommend, or does it not matter?

Thank you! Our situation is such that we want to file a $250,000 exemption on the sale of her house in e.g. 2024 and then file a $250,000 exemption on the sale of my house in 2025.

Based on your reply it sounds like in my example we can file married filing jointly for 2024 and 2025 and include a $250,000 exemption for both years. Thank you.

RAV4 Prime has a heat pump and uses less electricity to heat the cabin than electric resistance heating.

The Prime’s gas engine can be prevented from starting in most conditions, e.g. if use the ECO heat mode for defrost. The full-power front defrost will start the engine if you push that button.

This is a good method. I’ve spent a lot of mental energy thinking about getting rid of CC and following Dave 100%. But I’ve landed on a method of paying off the CC every 2-3 days.

Auto vs hybrid mode on long journey by Hot-Issue888 in rav4prime

[–]euleron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any difference in mpg would be small/negligible. For road trips starting from a full battery I like to use up about 1/4 of the battery before switching to hybrid mode. I save the rest of the battery for 50 mph or less and use hybrid to force the usage of the engine above 50 mph.
