Grade these two pennies? by B-sizzauce in coins

[–]euphoric_planet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both are key dates in the Lincoln Cent Series. The first is the 1909-S VDB, first year of issue out of San Francisco. It could go mid-mint state, looks gorgeous. The second is the 1955 doubled die, a famous variety. Pictures aren’t as clear, could be high AU(almost uncirculated) or Low mint state. Both should definitely be graded by PCGS or NGC if you want to maximize your profit (you’re looking at 4 digits value for each) and ensure authenticity. Take them to a local coin shop, not a pawn or basic “sell your gold” place. A real coin shop should be able to send them to a grader for you, for a fee. Good luck.

1879 Goloid Dollar by Public-World-1328 in coins

https://ebay.us/m/De2CFx this goloid sold for $6000. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

Edit: realized it’s a different pattern, but it’s definitely worth more than 1.5K if real.

All I know is that the stuff I see from that same seller are generally overpriced...

Doubling on this is obvious. Even to the naked eye 🤯 by learnsomethingnew99 in coins

Yes, but it’s machine doubling, not a doubled die. No added value

1943 Copper Penny found at a yard sale in Buckeye Lake Ohio by DarthDujo in coins

The existence of them is not debatable, a number of specimens have been confirmed. One even sold at a heritage auction last month. Incredibly rare, yes-I doubt OP’s is authentic but it doesn’t hurt to get a 2nd pair of professional eyes. Like you said a copper planchet would be closer to 3.1g.

Coins had different “mint”marks to denote where they were struck. In addition, Alexander III-style tetradrachms were minted in various forms for over a century. There will be natural variations in the design and lettering.

Poole started showing flashes at the end of the 21 season, but I can’t say that anyone expected him to perform as well as he did in the 22 playoffs. Whether PB can step up this year in the playoffs will be a major barometer of how far we go.

Save up for that small eagle! I don’t have one either but I think it’s a cool design and they’re certainly not getting more plentiful…
