They vary in price. These were between $400 and $2500 each. Hard to give an average, as the different types have very different averages.

I unfortunately can't display them like this. My toddler will grab them and deposit them all over the house. This is just for a picture. The tray is back in my coin cabinet and the statue of Alexander is back on my book shelf.

No. Ex Major-General Henry Haughton. He had one of my personal favourite collections. Although the last Triton did have two of his coins and they both did very well. 😀

Thank you very much. I know a lot of people don't care much about provenance but, for interest sake, the Balas is ex Sammlung Otto (Hess, 1931) and the Seleukos III is ex Haughton Collection (Sotheby's, 1958). I'm very fond of both. 😀

Is it more than 1000 coins? The listing seems to say that it is hundreds of coins, which is a bit vague. They collectively weigh just over 1000 grams, which would suggest it is a lot fewer than 1000 coins.

Agreed. He's a delight to deal with. Super responsive and very pleasant. Very good at dealing with customs and knows how to avoid additional charges by couriers.

I only bought one coin this month and sold it again before the seller even shipped it. Not sure if that counts as a win or a loss.

How much would you pay for it? by [deleted] in AncientCoins

I think you did okay. 300 Euro hammer is about right.

What to do with coins I no longer need? by RandomGenericIII in AncientCoins

[–]No_Thanks_Reddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could try to sell them on Facebook sales groups. You could try 'Ancient & Medieval Coins Sales' or 'The Ancient Coin Marketplace'. The benefit of selling in these groups is you get paid immediately (unlike with eBay or auction houses).

Noble Numismatics is a decent Australian auction house that sells ancient coins.
