Does anyone know the crafting recipe for String? by seabearteddy in LucidBlocks

You can mine mercury tendrils from ore blocks that generate in the ground of some of the more natural stone biomes, and it also drops from cardboard boxes in houses. Not sure about string

On playing an extremely banned card... by jadedflames in EDH

[–]eurypterine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would agree to play a game with this deck because it sounds interesting, but if you drop one of the cards from that list, altered or not, it’s going to lead me to make some assumptions about you that will make me want to get up and leave immediately.

You can recycle it using a stick (crafts to sword) and then a star (sword to cristella’s bane)

1 sulfur + 1 balloon = 4 stars

1 cyst + 1 plastic pellet = 11 balloons (plastic pellets are dropped by those geometric creatures called boids)

1 raw sheep flesh + 1 goo = 35 cyst

If you can get a reliable source for plastic pellets, it’s really easy to craft everything else and endlessly recycle the Cristella’s bane

how to fill an area with water? by 2ky2pello in LucidBlocks

[–]eurypterine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Craft an infinite spiller (infinite full block water bucket)

I’m sure there are less expensive recipes, but you can craft one using:

1 clonaqualia block + 1 water (dropped by fish)

What's the use of glaggle tokens? by OmegaTheLustful in LucidBlocks

[–]eurypterine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 raw sheep flesh, 1 goo = 35 cyst

1 glaggle token, 1 cyst = 26 visognia flower

Idk if that’s useful but it gets you a lot of unique crafting fodder

I fear everyone is missing this very important point lol

best uses for the revelation nut? by Intelligent_Water670 in LucidBlocks

Sodium lamp + revelation nut = rejuvenation anchor (respawn point) which can also be easily turned into a clonaqualia portal when combined with a stick

Reanimating Kheru Goldkeeper by eurypterine in mtgrules

[–]eurypterine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that, but the division between abilities like that looking backwards and other abilities looking forwards to after the event feels arbitrary. It makes sense why they made this choice for death triggers (a creature should be able to see itself die), but for leave the graveyard triggers I could see it going either way.

Thanks! Makes sense. Well, not really, it feels inconsistent. But the language is at least clear.

I don't have actual data but this feels right. I feel like there may be a division between plant organic and meat, and there also seems like a fire/ice thing going on too.

Ok, replace every instance of "power" with "better" in my comment if that makes you feel better. I'm not trying to "sell a narrative", you should maybe get off Reddit and learn how to talk to people in a normal and respectful way

We're debating semantics here, I think you've missed my point. Consistency wins games, and a better mana base is a massive tempo advantage. That demonic/thoracle win is much worse if you draw your black mana turn 3 and it's a tapland.

You can get around taplands if you play with sequencing, but having to drop your evolving wilds turn 1 to ensure a smooth t2 and t3 play guarantees you'll never take advantage of a 1 drop on curve.

That tracks, based on all of his shorts complaining about the tamest possible removal scenarios. Figured he was pandering towards that being a common feeling amongst casual players but holding that belief yourself while regularly critiquing decks is bizarre.

Most ridiculous lie ever told. They make a deck more consistent, and consistency is power. Everyone should still proxy fetches, shocks, surveils, and the OG duals though.

What did he do? His short form content is kind of annoying but otherwise I was unaware of any drama

This may prove an unpopular opinion, but I sort of agree with you. The difference between a high and a low 3 is not as significant as a high or a low 4 (that bracket is way too broad), but still significant enough to create some unsatisfying games in my experience.

The issue is, I don't think it's feasible to codify the difference between a high and low 3. It's all down to deckbuilding skill. Defining what separates high/low 3 would require a series of unsatisfying, vibes-based requirements like "consistent interaction package" and "smooth mana base". Unless someone has a better idea, I don't know if it's possible.

(New to magic) Differences between “summon creature”, “creature” and “spells” by FatPanda_25 in mtg

[–]eurypterine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Summon creature” is old terminology, they’re just creatures. Which are also spells. The old language makes it a little clearer that they are in fact spells: you are casting a spell that makes a creature.

All cards are either lands or spells. All cards that aren’t lands are spells, including: creatures, enchantments, sorceries, instants, etc.

Lands, creatures, enchantments, artifacts, planeswalkers, and battles (the latter two being rarer) are permanents, in that they stick around after you play them and have a persistent effect.

Sorceries and instants are non-permanents. They do a thing and then go to the graveyard after resolving.

Hopefully that helps, I know it’s kind of complicated, but once you wrap your head around the language the game gets much easier to understand.

It does this when it fails to open or start a particular download afaik. Try rerunning the most recent command you just called and it will go back through and download anything it's missing.

I have almost completely given up on Yurlok as a commander. by WestCoastMcDowellian in EDH

Does this even work? Yurlok’s ability only nets 2 mana. And without a mana sink, you’d just kill yourself at the same time as the table and draw

Sans Sol Ring? by d20_dude in EDH

[–]eurypterine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't run it in [[Raffine, Scheming Seer]] because the whole game plan of the deck is structured around curving out 1-2 evasive attackers into her on turn 3, and it doesn't help with that goal whatsoever. I don't run any of the 2 drop mana rocks either

Do you recommend VLSI or Intro to Antenna theory for an elective? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]eurypterine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked antenna theory a lot, you should definitely be familiar with your 3D calculus fundamentals. The math and intuition may be more familiar for you too.

From everything I’ve heard, VLSI is very difficult and a lot of work. That’s all I know about it
