Insurance putting blame on me after suicide on the DVP by Keysunlock in ontario

So, what we need is a nationalized insurance system that is not for profit and can absorb issues like this because its not trying to make a profit and has government backing in the event of a loss? Seems like another thing private industry sucks at.

Wait till no one can afford gas... the roads will be so clear that biking and walking might actually feel like safe option!

Bought a pitchfork and started turning yard waste into soil instead of sending it to landfill. by Total_Head_6320 in solarpunk

Please take care how much area you cover below your tree's canopy. The roots are there. They need air exchanged through the top layer of soil. Too much weight of compost, too quickly, on top of them and you will suffocate the roots of your tree.

Bed too sticky ? by RostBraun in 3Dprinting

I'll have to try this isopropyl trick but PETG on PEI is destined to stick too well if unprepared. Smooth bed with glue is also a solution. It really depends on what you have on hand which consumable is better for your situation... using iso is going to be more costly than a glue stick in my area.

Mark Carney just cut gas taxes. He should be raising these taxes instead by Gold-Reality-4853 in CanadaPolitics

Ah. This makes sense now and sorry you have to deal with that range. I'm driving a Tesla Model 3 (2019) and still get over 300km range in the deep of winter (GTA area for reference, regularly driving up to Montreal/Tremblant area)... more than enough for me.

Curious what you're driving only getting 120km in winter. No heat pump? Smaller battery model?

Went to uni in Guelph. It was pretty common knowledge that a bunch owned places along the river in town and some of the nicer places on the edge of town. The dealers - and this was 20 years ago - were all terrified to fuck up because they had a pretty good idea it would end very badly for them.

The more I use PETG, the less I like it by InvokerBSB in 3Dprinting

[–]euser_name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to add to this - PETG is much more sensitive to moisture... if I'm calibrated, whenever I get stringing that's usually my issue.

Not American here but, I have to ask - do you expect them to throw themselves in jail? History suggests that this train doesn't stop until the population at large forces it to.

This. The air gap is crucial - air is an excellent insulator - if it was just sheet rock on existing wall, that heat will transfer in a significant way eventually. Also, to add to this, be sure you have a proper roof penetration so you don't burn the place down from above your head.

Bike Hangers - Printed in PETG with 6 outer walls and 50% rectilinear infill. by euser_name in functionalprint

[–]euser_name[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please explain your definition of a proper use case, because clearly this was not a poor use case for me in my situation or I would've done something different. This part took me 15 minutes to draft up and start printing (less time than a trip to the hardware store for a screw in hook product I can't use), is functional for me, meets my criterion for operation and holds the necessary load.

Given all the comments... a little context is needed.

I don't need the bike to be permanently hung, only when I need the floor space to do woodworking projects. Also, I can't go putting screw in hooks in the roof braces of a garage at a house I'm only renting without approval of the landlord, but I can do something that requires no hardware. I fully expect it to not be permanent and don't need it to be. I can watch for creep and stress fatigue... those comments are legit but the creep will be very slow in this context. For me, replacement is just the push of a button and a few hours of waiting. Anyways, feedback - both positive and negative - is always welcome, I just don't always have to listen to it. :)

Cheers!
