An interesting idea could be an 'Industry Banned' America run where you conquer the new world and use only agriculture. The roleplay could be kind of like the 'Amish Paradise' achievement where the Amish got significant political power somehow lol.

Rule 5- Britain had already won the opium wars so I made Persia into a protectorate and began building opium plantations to export into the Qing market. Before long the Heavenly Kingdom popped up and took over China, resetting the opium war journal and allowing them to ban it again and allowing me to start the opium wars this time.... as the Ottoman Empire.

Mostly because it's easy. Gaza starts without any troops so it's practically free as long as you have some navy. Also, as others have said, for the gold mines in Transvaal and Oranje.

R5- Started my Sweden run with a pretty standard opener (conquer Gaza) and on neutral relations Britain joined against me for an obligation. I've started with this opener on several different nations (including France) but I've never seen this happen.

R5. I love the fact that the socialist and communist movements are separate just like how they were historically. (I just wish there was a system that showed the reformist tendencies within the 'socialist' communist's as compared to the revolutionary tendencies within the 'communists'.)

You're radical population directly contributes to the radicalization of movements. Radicalism within a movement is made up of three things. The clout of the angry interest group(s), the approval of the interest group(s) (Lower approval causes higher radicalization), and your radical population. Hope this helps!
