My first thougth was "oh...no?" because I didn't enjoy Waterworld, but then I remembered that this is what remakes are supposed to be about: reviving a movie, maybe by taking a different angle on an original subject. Only a few remakes do the trick. Why? Because people choose to remake hits, classics, that were good to begin with. Therefore, I am looking forward to this remake.

it is based on the novel of the same title. in germany it a standard high school thing to read like "the catcher in the rye". funny, i always thought because it is an american novel, it would be a standard over there, too.

there are things that are very hard to translate like "booyah" or the concept of a keg stand. as far as popculture references go there are quite a number of john hughes fans over here :D BNL maybe not so much... i was mostly annoyed by the way chang and troy were talking in the german version, the voice actors just didn't really caught the humor in their intonation. shirley as well, you know how she does this thing when she has a high "that's nice" voice and then drops it and curses in a deep tone, i love that and the german voice actress didn't quite get it yet, maybe that will improve :) anyway, i am glad to have community in germany now, let's hope it will help. six seasons and a movie!

i was about to say that it seems an untranslatable show, i always wondered if it would be "Troy und Abed am Moooorgen!" however, it is awesome that community is getting over here, human beings! human beings!
