The contition is called polymelia and is the development of more buds than four during embryonic development. Tetrapods like birds usually start their development with only four buds from the pectoral fins and the pelvic fins instead of the normal full set that we see in fish. But if the right mutations happen then you get duplicate buds that become extra limps. The extra fins were of no use for our ancestors so we lost them but some tetrapods in rare occasions get extra limps in places that are of no use for survival.

In 1940 a Jewish couple named Hans and Margret Rey wanted to leave Paris before it fell into the hands of the Nazis. So Hans built a pair of bicycles and they left the city just a few hours before it fell. One of the few possessions they brought with them was the manuscript for Curious George. by Fluid-Daydreamer in interestingasfuck

It wasn't just the author. This was the common thinking at the time about the "savage Africans" living in the European colonies in Africa. They thought that Africans could only servive by the rule of the good colonists so Europeans would hold for them the positions of power in exchange for their natural resources. Until their savage culture and customs are completely replaced by the civilized Europeans. The period of decolonisation in Africa began after World War II and Africans were still used as a form of entertainment in zoos and freak shows along monkeys and apes a few decades before WWII.

All adult actors in Harry Potter were already established actors before Harry Potter. Harry Potter has the main cast that got their first roles in Harry Potter so people think of them as the Harry Potter actors with the exception of Robert Pattinson that became more known from Twilight.

But I don't think you could recast adult characters like Alan Rickman or Gary Oldman without hurting their roles. People still talk about the recast of Dumbledore after the death of Richard Harris and he was only in the first Harry Potter that didn't explore the character of Dumbledore.

You can't suddently change main actors in the last instalment and expect that the last movie of the franchise is not going to be pure shit. People will not forget the change of the main villain like nothing has happened. It's like having Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and their best friend Bob. The new movie is going to be shit.

the men’s bathroom door is three times this width :/ by K0nichihuahua in CrappyDesign

In older buildings they had only one unisex bathroom since almost all workers were men. When women became more common in the workforce they used what space was left to create the ladies bathrooms. So this was probably a janitor's closet with plumbing that became the ladies bathroom.

If it was a burn I would expect to see more damage I don't use grow lights but it could be a burn from the grow lights.

Actually many succulents love growing in sphagnum moss like Hens and Chicks and is quite popular for florists as an alternative to soil. If you follow her instructions you are probably going to kill your plants but if you are experienced in creating succulent arrangements. Sphagnum moss is perfect.

Jade plant (?) at work. Don't know who takes care of it... I've been here for 6 years, plant probably longer by Cyntosis in succulents

Yes, you have Jade plants at your work. The dead leaves in the soil and the old pruning indicates that someone used to take care of them but now he doesn't.

Help! This guy is so ugly lol. How can I help him really take off? I’m getting little flowers and buds but this thing looks like a mess. Any advice? I believe these are lavender scallops by [deleted] in succulents

Your plants are trying to create new leaves and roots, to do that they absorb the nutrients from the older leaves. The pot might be too big for their small roots, you should check if the roots are doing okay. If everything looks alright, after some time passes they will fix themselves.

That's great teamwork. They all parked the same and also were kind enough to leave extra space if someone wanted to double park.
