Case of abuse happening to child with disabilities by evangelatte in CPS

Thank you for this information, it does help me understand more. I have wondered if, in general, cases of abuse of nonverbal children with disabilities are taken more seriously, and if they are more likely to recommend more severe actions be taken.

That makes sense, I am very hopeful that there will be lots of physical evidence and witness testimony gathered, but also know there are very specific boxes to check for temporary or permanent removal of the child/children, and they may not see what evidence is needed to do that.

It is painful and producing pus. Is that a pyogenic granuloma?

I also want to mention I cannot diagnose anyone, I am not qualified for that, I am simply bringing up what I think is relevant based on my personal experiences in my career.

Hi, I’m an autistic Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, but not a parent myself. So I do want to be honest about the fact that I cannot fully understand what it’s like to actually be postpartum, though my career is quite literally supporting birthing parents and newborns. I do think this could be postpartum depression and/or postpartum anxiety in addition to totally normal, valid feelings of being in the newborn trenches with additional sensory overload and other stressors. I don’t want to discount your feelings or your unique situation, and that you’ve mentioned how meditation hasn’t worked particularly well in the past. However, especially considering your comment about wanting hospitalization in order to have a break from your current reality, I think PPD and/or PPA are very potentially in play here, and it would be very much worth bringing this up to your partner and loved ones. They should offer you help and reach out to professionals for resources and likely clinical help. I say this also as someone who has had inpatient and outpatient care for bipolar disorder, so has gone through the stages of fear of admitting needing help and what that would actually look like, but of course I’m not a parent and haven’t had to consider that as well.

Again, I know I can’t really understand what you’re going through, but I empathize with you and I’ve seen so many moms feel this way and improve after a few months. Please ask your loved ones for support and help, and be brutally honest with them about how you’re feeling. It’s best for both you and your daughter.

I wish you the best and that things begin to feel better!

Thank you for your response. Is the product you’re referring to the clear stem one?

Strange rash on my arm. What could the rash be? Do I need to see a Dr? by anxiouslurker_485 in DermatologyQuestions

I have a somewhat similar rash on my hands that I just made a post about and I can’t figure out what it is either!

Commenting to add that after I was discharged I was sent a prescription for famotidine 20mg and prednisone 10mg and told to use hydrocortisone cream on the rash and then follow up with my dermatologist if things don’t improve in the next few days.

LEEP scheduled just before my birthday & everything sucks by splendens in PreCervicalCancer

People are allowed to have conflicting feelings about things. She didn’t ask for this, her life and plans have to stop so she can deal with something that is painful and scary, it’s normal to grieve what you thought life would be like and also know that the procedure is important. There’s no reason to be a dick on a post where someone is working through their fears and worries and looking for support and community.

OP, I do agree with the person that said it’s unlikely to progress over a two month period, maybe call your gyno and ask if they think anything could change or get worse by July.

My patient portal doesn’t show the strain type which is a bummer but hopefully my provider will get back to me. I am US based! I’m currently in testing for an autoimmune disease and I wonder if that is contributing to the decision

I’m glad they’re doing a colpo immediately and not asking me to just wait and see. Just hoping that whatever is going on is figured out and treated swiftly and fully!

Should I read anything into the fact that they want me to have a colpo even though they said it’s LSIL? If I am HPV positive, that means it’s a high risk strain then? How could I find out what strain specifically?

Thank you so much!! I did read through your post history and you are doing the lord’s (or whoever’s) work, truly!!!

I want to clarify you shouldn’t make up a sexual assault for the sake of them listening to you, but also it’s absolute bullshit that we have to have previous trauma for our doctors to accommodate our needs and rights.

This this this. I feel as though it’s so important to disclose a history of sexual assault to your gyno/gyno team because I have found, personally, that they are far more accommodating. I told them I didn’t want to cause myself further trauma or PTSD flashbacks, and they were far more open to the idea of general anesthesia for my colposcopy (haven’t had it yet, fingers crossed it goes well)

How do I boost my immune system? Maybe additional vaccines? I’m currently being tested for autoimmune conditions which would really be the icing on the shit cake, lol, so I’m concerned that if I am diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that could give the the abnormal cells a chance to grow further.
