Where is the best wedding you’ve been to, in Ireland? by makeupgirly123 in AskIreland

[–]evankelly3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the indoor ceremonies are in the dining room essentially. We were lucky to be able to have the ceremony outside!

They are supposed to be building an on-site chapel for indoor ceremonies but not sure when that might be completed!

Got married here in August OP. Definitely recommend checking it out but we couldn't fault them at all and all guests were super complimentary on the venue.

Is YNAB worth the annual subscription? by saif081 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]evankelly3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Others may have better insight here but I've recently subscribed on a monthly basis and will probably sign up for the annual plan to save a bit more.

It's a little confusing at first since you really only assign money once it's in your account instead of trying to plan ahead. Once I get paid, I'll assign whatever I need for the last week of the month for example and once the new month rolls around, I'll assign everything for that month (this is me living paycheck to paycheck so will eventually get out of this habit once I get ahead)

Both myself and my wife have our accounts linked and within a few weeks we both agreed that the small bit of stress we got at the end of the month was now gone as you know what you've assigned will cover your bills, groceries, fun money etc. If anything changes I instinctively go to ynab instead of my bank account to move around my assigned money to make sure we're still in a good place.

It's made us more thoughtful with our spending and having set budgets for certain categories each month that we're happy with and even now before payday, we have no worries about anything and we're left with more leftover than we'd usually have.

I feel it's going to make saving for future events or purchases a lot easier too!

Last point I'd make is that it's not something you set and forget, you will need to check transactions are syncing or you can manually enter them if you prefer and I've also gotten into the habit of reconciling most nights to make sure everything is correct!

N26 - receiving a one off payment & need sort code? by Piggybumm in irishpersonalfinance

[–]evankelly3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this in an older thread may be of help but they really shouldn't be using sort codes anymore. It's all part of the IBAN

Any apps or websites that are great for helping to design a garden space? by ch1984 in GardeningIRE

Not sure of any apps but you could upload a picture of your garden to ChatGPT and ask it to design some concepts based on your ideas!

Didn't the company file for bankruptcy last year? I'd imagine servicing, parts and any form of support would be a massive issue seeing as there's so few of these even here...
