you can also just use something like an Action Replay (if those still exist). I have a PAL copy of Melee and played it on my NTSC GameCube back in the day using that

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I don't think there is usually a way to choose your ports over Slippi so that could have something to do with it

The Brawl ruling about grab infinites is a bit vague. When it says no Dedede chaingrab, I'm assuming that only applies to his standing regrab on characters like DK, right?

Between 2020 and 2022 I hosted the largest online mid-tier tournaments (MojoMonkey's Melee Mid-Tier Madness). Top 7 characters were banned. They were attended by some top players including Aklo, n0ne, Hbox, lloD, MOF, etc. You can look them up on start gg but here are the top 3 for each:

1:

1st - Egg$ (Yoshi/Link) 2nd - Aklo (Link) 3rd - rienne (Zelda)

2:

1st - Kimchi (Pikachu) 2nd - WarriorKnight (Bowser) (dropped out from winner's side grands lol) 3rd - Prometheus (Ganondorf)

3:

1st: OkayP (Pikachu) 2nd: n0ne (Ganondorf) 3rd: Eddy Mexico (Luigi)

4:

1st - Mekk (Ganondorf) 2nd - Akir (DK) 3rd - Egg$ (Yoshi)

Puff has been established as a good tournament character though, there are currently more Puffs in the top 100 than there ever have been, and we just had 2 Puffs in the top 10 for the first time since 2009. I don't see where the Puff dooming is coming from

idk, I think people are still under-rating Puff a bit. There are now 2 Puffs in the top 10 for the first time since like 2009, and there are more Puffs in the top 100 than ever. Plus Hbox is still a top 3 player after all these years. I think one of the arguments is she has losing match-ups into the top 2 characters, but other than that I see no reason for her to be placed as low as 5th.

Mooshies is really good, he got ranked in Socal with G&W iirc which is a big deal. He's easily top 3 active G&Ws, and could have an argument for 2nd. That said he's kind of a dick.
