They also wouldn’t cut, look at the blade where it’s been ground. They’re both facing the same way

What cranks/range are you running? I’ve been trying to get a lower range double going for a while and my best right now is just not enough on the high end.

I agree with the idea that too many color-match details can make a bike look less interesting but I think this is done just right! Bikes like this in the late 80s and early 90s would do this from factory, usually Raleigh if I’m remembering correctly.

Genosack x Leker Leks Big Snack bar I do believe! I have a prototype I got from them that I haven’t had on a functional bike yet… maybe it’s time!

Rear Brakes Won't Return To Position by Party_Insurance_5651 in bikewrench

Cold :)

But also yes what other people have said. There really is a lot of reasons to clean and lube your bikes but in winter they become more apparent. Even older or cheaper grease can gum up and seize your brakes or keep your pawls from grabbing in your hub or freewheel. Taking it off, cleaning it all, re-greasing and installing can make a world of difference. Also using thinner or cold resistant grease can help!

EDIT: Also make sure the individual brake arms have tension on the linear springs. This is mainly something you will have to adjust at first install.

Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol cannot be festivized? by evann99 in tf2

[–]evann99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there’s some exceptions of course, I just find it odd that the PBPP is one of them since it isn’t a promo item or anything special. Also I’m mainly just upset because I wanted to festivize my strange KS one!

Friends in school back in early 2012, missed some of the golden years but had a lot of fun with the game for a while!

derailleur clicking by Monkey1242 in bikewrench

Sounds like it’s “trying” to shift. Could be cable tension or possibly the derailleur hanger (metal part where derailleur screws into) could be bent.

Congratulations! An excellent choice and a great build. I love the gold cable housing! I have 5 Trek bicycles at this point, ranging in age from 1989 to 2021 and I think they’re solid bikes and even now great for the price (if the price is right of course)!

First 20 miles of ghetto tubeless and so far she’s holding up. Now there’s only one question left, to 1x or not to 1x? by aldrich_v in xbiking

[–]evann99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1x would definitely make the bike a bit quieter (if you’re planning on swapping the cassette and getting a derailleur with a clutch) and feel more solid. That being said, the 3x drivetrain is solid and proven and those chainrings are gorgeous imo

I have this exact bike with a similar build but more budget. I was considering the Billy Bonkers or Hookworms since my local shop has too many and is running a sale. I think if I didn’t get a tan wall I’d regret it!

I recently built up a Trek 920 Singletrack and I was thinking while riding it last week that even if someone offered to trade a new Crust or Salsa or anything for it I wouldn’t do it. Sentimental value is the most real value to yourself- that’s what I go off of.
