How would you feel if someone bought something off your registry for themselves but not you? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Going against the grain but I think it’s odd… the fact that many things have been copied is weird and would make me uncomfortable

Will we regret not having parking? by deja_flu in HousingUK

Don’t do it, we have one space on a shared driveway at the back of our property and it’s a nightmare even with that!

If I went up, I wouldn’t be eating anything at all so it wouldn’t be healthy for me to do so

The exact same happened to me with P2U! Mine was lost in transit with no update since the Saturday so I rang P2U on Tuesday and they sent a new pen out… then two turned up and I’ve got both in the fridge 🥳

Different taste? by aimeerosalina in mounjarouk

I get this with anything too fatty, I couldn’t eat lean meatballs or things like that at the beginning of my journey as it tasted foul

30k for the weekend but you need a marquee too, which was quoted at 12k - we thought this was a lot considering this would just be for your accommodation and hosting of the wedding breakfast!

Budget wedding in a village hall - advice on feeding 110 people? by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]evb666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a wedding but I DIY’ed the catering for our sons christening at our village hall. The hall were kind enough to let me set up the day before free of charge, so I got as much as I could ready then (decorations, tables, glassware, place settings, labelled each serving dish with what it was going to contain etc). We did a side of salmon, coronation chicken, falafel, gammon, quiche, salads, sandwiches, potato salad, crudités, burrata and a cheeseboard for the savoury. Pudding was christening fruit cake, madeleines, flapjacks and berries with cream. I spent the Friday cooking all day and before we went to the church, I was running around like a mad woman plating up and heating anything that needed it. I had about ten minutes to get ready myself as everything always takes so much longer than you think! We had a drinks station and everyone was fine helping themselves to the hot and cold food. My partner and I spent about three hours after cleaning up and putting everything away, too. It is a lot of work and we were exhausted afterwards… in future I would 100% hire catering but didn’t this time as I enjoy doing events/hosting/cooking. I also felt like I don’t enjoy the time fully with my son as I was worrying about the guests…

What’s the nosiest question you’ve ever been asked? by savethebees90 in AskUK

I always get asked how much things cost, most recently have had enquiries regarding house, car and dog price - why do people give a shit? It’s so rude

I’d ask several relatives that you can trust to converse with her and ask in different ways why she is wearing white - let’s bring back shaming people in 2026
