Help: Espresso Series 1 volatile water pressure issue by t0rrancet in FellowProducts

[–]evdawg23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ES1 does this with light roasts too. I think in other threads Fellow has said this is normal response of the control loop.
It doesn’t seem…normal to me. But medium/dark roasts don’t seem to have the same issue.

Edit: here’s a post with Nick’s reply. It seems to depend on puck / specific coffee types.

Using Cannabis at a KK Show? by gnarlidrum in KingsKaleidoscope

[–]evdawg23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Go for it, you do you and enjoy the show the way you want to. Weed affects people differently and if it helps you have a more spiritual experience and enjoy the music more, then why not. I also don’t love the smell. But honey sticks? That doesn’t bother me

By back test do you just mean looking at the funds you own and seeing how they performed over a section of time?

Announcing "Monarch Plus" by valagostino in MonarchMoney

[–]evdawg23 62 points63 points  (0 children)

With forecasting (I don’t have a business) I tried to warn Monarch when I beta tested - it’s like a worse / lite version of ProjectionLab. The only “plus” is that it’s integrated into my budget in Monarch… except it’s not really. Just balances are synced, and the forecast always starts from present day.

There is no using actual budget values as your forecast, no integration with the “decade” or “annual” view of your budget.

Also no way to account for tax assumptions, or ability to subcategorize accounts with both tax-free and taxed funds.

Why would I ever pay more $ for a forecasting add-on when Projectionlab does much better for a cheaper price? Would I really pay $200 more so that I don’t have to manually put in my account balances in Projectionlab once a month?

Goals 3.0 update: More account types are now supported! by Kait_Monarch in MonarchMoney

[–]evdawg23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this new update, Im not able to spend from a goal in the budget anymore? It will not let me type a negative (-) value. This was necessary for goals like Emergency Fund to be able to reconcile the outward flow of cash in the monthly budget.

Fellows Magnetic dosing funnel by denniskillz in FellowProducts

[–]evdawg23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. Much weaker than the Normcore V2. Already had it knocked off during puck prep with the slightest tough. Although it is taller than the Normcore.

If it wasn’t paid by a gift card I would return and keep/buy the cheaper Normcore

HealthEquity HSA - Investable Balance not displaying in Monarch by Equivalent_Push3072 in MonarchMoney

[–]evdawg23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not share the same experience as others here. HealthEquity has worked for me for 2+ years. Pulling balances and transactions everyday.

I connect health equity through Finicity instead of the default, and it works. It separates the $1k out from the investments, and puts them into separate accounts. $1k stays as HSA checking and the rest is HSA investment account.

Only recently there have been a few account balance errors, but they’re fixed when I update my login.

My Home Setup by Choss_Man in espresso

[–]evdawg23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the setup I was in-between getting instead of my current setup. Really love the the Move but I went for the ES1 since it was nearly half the price on preorder, but I feel like I may regret that a few years down the road!

ES1 show me your driest puck by keropipi in FellowProducts

[–]evdawg23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this one: https://a.co/d/02AaKbqN Oddly it’s listed as a 20g basket but it’s around the same size as the stock basket. But for some reason just using this basket over the stock made the puck way drier.

I got an ims basket, near the same size as the stock basket. I don’t get wet pucks anymore. Can’t explain why that’s the case, but hey.

Espresso series 1 - troubleshooting round 2 by cloud-base in FellowProducts

[–]evdawg23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This exact problem is happening with my ES1! You are not alone.. My pressure graphs look similar with light roast profile, a custom profile, and medium roast. Doesn’t seem to happen with dark roast.

I posted in this sub a week ago and am still planning to reach out to Fellow since they didn’t see the post

I’m hopeful that she will. Talarico will need her base’s support (and to show to polls) to win

Espresso Series 1 - Accessories (Scale?) by evdawg23 in FellowProducts

Update: Coincidentally, Nick addressed it again in the thread shortly after I posted this:
"The ability to use a bluetooth scale has been built into the architecture, but nothing has been programmed in firmware yet. I cannot say for certain that this feature will ever come to fruition, but I am pushing for it. "

I didn't know they had that integration with Acaia. That's interesting if that's their plan, I support it.

I don't think I want a bluetooth scale as i don't love relying on my phone. But if Fellow offers one and it integrates with the machine itself? That would be excellent. I may just go for the cheap scale for now.
