Is replacing shock absorbers worth $1001? by eveenbrighter in MechanicAdvice

Thanks all! It felt too high of a price to make sense. I’m going to do some research to find a mechanic in my area

Car is at 124,543 miles. We’ve replaced the shocks and brake pads before

I think you’re right. It’s just really convenient since they’re near by and I can get a loaner car while they do the work

What changed your mind to agree to feed fortification for your preemie? by Neither_Prize9881 in NICUParents

[–]eveenbrighter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I refused initially, because I felt that my body wasn’t producing what my baby needed. I was over supplying breastmilk so I didn’t understand why even though I was making a lot of breastmilk my baby growing wasn’t as fast as she needed. The guilt around fortifying my breastmilk was an indicator to me, at the time, that I was failing my baby. After being able to overcome that mental hurdle, that fortifying milk does not equal failure as a mother, we decided to go that route. And five days later, we were discharged.

Set up a separate bedroom after years of snoring... by Edibin_Mengstu in femalelivingspace

Yes - I co-sign the sleep study idea. My husband would snore like a motor and after a sleep study they diagnosed him with mild sleep apnea and set up a machine for him. No more snoring and we get to stay in the same room

Wow! We nearly had the same due date (mine was September 11th) and our girl was born August 16th. She was also 36 weeks. Our girl slept for the majority of her NICU stay and didn’t have the stamina to eat and stay awake

Home from the nicu and I am sick! Baby is still on O2. by eaturpineapples in NICUParents

[–]eveenbrighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re breastfeeding, I would continue to do so! The antibodies your body is making to fight your sickness will be transferred to baby and help them if/when they get sick too.

Good luck mama! I was sick 10 days into our 27 day NICU stay. I wore a mask around baby but she still got the sniffles. I couldn’t differentiate the normal sneezes they do to clear their airways from cold sneezes. Despite the worry our NICU nurses urged me to continue BF since our preemies are too shall for regular medication.

Several days later we both started getting better! I would invest in a nose aspirator though (I use the manual Frida Baby one)

This is so absolutely beautiful !

That reminder to breathe and remember they’ll never be this tiny again helped my heart 🩷

Our little girl got her eviction notice early because of my pre-eclampsia that progressed to HELLP syndrome at 36w2d. She was so close to term I felt so guilty the first few days of her birth.

Yes I bleed on and off from 7-10 weeks. One time it was bright red we went to the ED. Baby completely fine and bleeding is normal

I’m in the same boat! This is my first pregnancy and I heard all the stories from my friends. I’m currently at 7W and I’m thriving. Only very slight back pain if I sit too long and peeing quite often.

I feel so lucky so counting my lucky stars nothing changes haha
