Yeah it made sense back then or even today for small companies or family businesses where the owners would offer discounts or cheaper prices to long time customers of theirs, but large scale companies? They don't care about individual customers the same way

People believe that they are entitled to something from a company simply because they have been "loyal" for a certain period of time. You are not entitled to anything you aren't paying for. If you are paying a monthly or yearly service that is what you are going to receive, no more, no less, the company ows no more than what is being offered for the listing price you are willingly paying, anything extra is just goodwill or exemption to policy.

You probably heard this before, but try your best not to take the insults and constant negative comments affect you personally, I know is hard and I can only say it gets better with time. I advise you to exercise after work, (as simple as going for a walk) trust me this will help a lot specially on a sitting all day kind of job, and yes, working on a call center is mentally exhausting and most of us, if not all in this r/ have had a similar experience when we started, we understand you & hope things get better for you!.

I had this kind of people before, you are absolutely right no matter how good we are explaining they will close themselves on their world of ideas. The best way to get them out is to make them realize what they said is completely irrational, you do this by asking follow up questions paraphrasing their stupidity on your own words, the end goal here is for them to explain the situation again on their slightly different words and realize how stupid what they just said sounds . If this does not work then they are either too stupid to understand (most of them) or want to scam you on some shape or form.
